No. It wouldn't be. I'd recognize it's your own personal opinion. And your personal opinions do not affect my well being as a person. It's because I understand that I'm not entitled to everyone agreeing with me and believing the same things I do.

I spent over 20 years of my life as a Christian. I've read the entire Bible front to back and multiple times. I went to church. I was baptized and saved. I currently live in the Bible belt where churches are on every block. I actually do have a frame of reference as to where Christians are coming from, and what it's like to experience life as being one. When I was a Christian I had atheist friends who often said the religion was foolish. I did not however by proxy think they thought I was a fool.

Honestly I don't care if you find my opinions insulting jp1. If you come onto the internet expecting everyone to agree with what you believe, and to handle your beliefs with kid gloves if they don't, then I can't help you. If you still insist on thinking I'm purposefully insulting you, observe Luke 6:29 and let it go.

You are completely discounting the experiences of other people or blowing them off as fluff. I don't care how you try and slice it, that is insulting. Believe in (or don't) whatever you want, there is no need to belittle the ideals of others. Sure, you're free to do it. I'm free to take umbrage. I just don't see why we need to be at that point. I'm not pushing a religious agenda.
Out of curiosity, what would your opinion be of someone bringing back the temple of Zeus? Is that just as real as what you experience, or is it based in imagination?
I don't know what someone else might experience. I know what I have experienced. It is very real, tangible, and evident. Thus, it is not based on the realm of imagination. I don't push my belief on anyone or expect that they should make choices based on my experiences...I simply don't wish to be belittled for them.

Honestly, I don't care what someone else believes or does not believe. I don't even care if Exhuminator believes I am insane for having experiences he has not or that I must have conjured them from my imagination. What I do care about is people having a little tact. I respect the wishes of other members not to have my beliefs pushed on them, and not to slander them because they believe differently. Where's the quid pro quo?

Canola oil has on the other hand has still been found to have trace amounts of trans-fats. The saturated fat part is true but not all fats are the same and new research has shown saturated fat on it's own is not as harmful as once thought.

What oil would you suggest then? I only use avocado, evo, coconut, and palm oil for the most part. Seasame seed oil for flavor in asian dishes but never cooked.
Some of my research is out of date, but it is mine. Long hours in the lab, doing the barrage of tests, pouring over spectrometer results, and putting random crap in the autoclave to see what happens during the downtime. I have a BS and almost a Masters in Food Science. You did not specify unrefined coconut oil, or if you did I missed it, and I apologize. Most of my studies were done on the most common oils available at the time, coldpressed coconut was not readily available.

I recommend pairing your oil with your food type. For example, if I am cooking something low in poly unsaturated, I will often use safflower oil. Safflower is low in saturated and mono unsaturated, but high in poly. That way you have an "even" fat content, which is typically easier for the body to digest. Though at the end of the day, this is all general advice. What works for you and your body is what is best. Case in point I have a good friend who cannot eat most refined oils due to an odd allergy*, even coldpressed, so she cooks with ghee.

I keep a mix of oils on hand for different types of cooking. Walnut oil is one most people do not think about, mostly because for ages it was a paint base, but when used for correctly, it can make some foods taste amazing. When cooked it takes on a bitterness so it is mostly used in dressings where it is a slight nutty flavor. It is also not shelf stable and expensive. Right now I have Safflower, Sesame, Walnut, Flaxseed, Canola, Avacado, Cottonseed, Peanut, and Coconut oils on hand. I ran out of Tea seed oil last night (which if you like sesame seed, try tea seed. It is what is used in South China and is like a step between olive and grapeseed).

*she claims it is an allergy, I think she is missing a receptor. Studies have shown that this is most likely due to an increase of protein in the way most oils are processed.
I meant with spinach, but from what your saying it sounds like non-hydrogenated coconut oil still would be fine for spinach.

This is an exercise in futility. I'm not asking that you agree with me, I'm not asking that you handle my beliefs with kid gloves either. I'm asking you to exercise some courtesy, but obviously that is too much to ask.

I can "let it go". Just assumed you might be the kind of guy that gave a shit if you offended someone. Sorry 'bout that. Carry on.

EDIT: By the way, this is what I find interesting about the boards in general. The new excuse for being an asshole is that you don't want to wear "kid gloves". I've seen this multiple times. I suppose I run with a different crowd, as treating people with a little bit of concern and respect is just part of being an adult in my everyday life. Go figure. :?

Well, seeing as there are many here with a more liberal mindset, PC police and being the moral police seems like something they would like, to an extent.

Not a bit. Your opinion means less and less the more you speak.

How exactly do I feel persecuted? Because I think you're being an asshole?

Man, you don't know me at all.

So far as I can tell there is very little policing. Seems most folks are free to speak their mind.

@Luke - No moral police here. Stating an opinion is all. I still think people should be free to be an asshole. Doesn't mean I have to suffer that shit with a smile.

To be clear, I am the morality police on these boards. I am judge, jury, and executioner, and I will prosecute any of you for thoughtcrimes.

Unfortunately, the only thoughtcrime committed here recently was a short piece belittling the very fun 3DS game Fairune. I let that one slide because the perp was a first-time offender, but I will not be so lenient going forward...
