Chappie.

I had no problems with it. While it has the same weaknesses that Blomkamp's other flicks has, it's no less fleshed out in plot, story, or characters than either District 9 or Elysium.

I actually appreciate the way they framed up the AI conversation.

I think people just wanted Terminator and it's not that ... Anyway, I liked it.

Nightcrawler

I think they pulled a lot of inspiration from American Psycho for this movie. It stars a thin guy with sharp features and greased hair, who is very smart but blunt and sociopathic. The topic, freelance news footage filmers, is one that I haven't seen used by a movie before. Great movie overall. Unless you don't like downer endings.

On Friday, my wife and I watched:

Sleepaway Camp (1983). It is a pretty horrible slasher film with a very troubling subtext. The ending is just iinsane, however, and it totally redeems it.

Last night, my whole family watched:

Ponyo (2008). Mu daughter was initially disappointed that it wasn't more like Disney's version of The Little Mermaid, but she ended up adoring it just as much as she adores My Neighbor Totoro. It is a beautiful, magical children's film, and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Studio Ghibli's work.

Who doesnt want a human sized candle boat that works?

Yesterday I watched a bunch of Arnold movies as I did some painting:
Total Recall
Running Man
Hercules in New York
The Last Stand
Terminator 1&2
Twins

Total Recall is brilliant. And like most Philip K Dick stories, I like it more than the original short story. It also made me look up Boonie Bugs since that is what the taxi is:

Running Man is perfection in an 80s action movie. Tons of fights, bad oneliners, and situations that do not make sense. So people from the crowd get to chose stalkers at any time, but their arenas are in a certain order... The villain Dynamo is so ridiculously over the top that it is just butter oozing from the perfection of this film.

Hercules in New York is horrible. Horrible enough that Arnold says he should not have made it. If I ever hear that accordion rift again.

Last Stand is a genius plot in the same way as Cabin in the Woods. It is not one cliche plot point, it is ALL of them. Small town sheriff retired from the big city, drug cartel leader escapes, highspeed chase to the border, crazy local that has huge gun collection. I went in thinking it would be a 2000s version of an 80s action movie, but came out wanting to watch it again. Highly recommended if you disregarded it for it being Arnold.

Terminators and Twins everyone has seen, no reason saying anything about them.

Ah, so this explains our conversation on the finer points of Schwarzenegger's career.

If by themed food you mean paint fumes, then yes.

That's close enough to "Nuked Food".
