From my experience, PS2 emulation is pretty good on PC. Not perfect - I remember one game having an issue where menu text didn't show up at the start up screen - but pretty damn good.

Speaking of legal gray areas, I heard that you can run Gamecube ISOs on the Wii U by installing the Homebrew Channel on the Wii-within-the-WiiU thing. Apparently you can't just put Gamecube discs in, as the Wii U just spits them right back out. I'm really thinking about doing this, would be great to run Gamecube games through HDMI.

I can't get over how good the new Doom looks. We'll see if it literally looks that good when it's released, but gameplay-wise for once a developer took an old franchise and logically upgraded it to present day. It's still the brutal, no BS gameplay we come to expect from Doom, just updated to its current potential. I love it.

On an unrelated note, a question: When someone is selling say, a PS3 or 3DS and they say that games X, Y, and Z are downloaded onto the system, are those your games if you buy from them? I always assumed that stuff was linked to an account.

I'm not 100% sure how ownership works on PS3 and have no idea about 3DS. But most people who sell their consoles leave their account on there without much thought. I have seen some issues pop up when someone sells a PS3 but continues using their account on PS4, locking the other person out of the account through a password change or somesuch.

^ Thanks.

I guess I have a lot of random thoughts today: Seriously considering collecting disc only for the Saturn. The thought pains me but I simply cannot justify the prices of CIB. I can't even secure a copy of freakin' Baku Baku because I don't see why a fun little puzzler costs $20, which seems to be the low end for any Saturn game that's worth a damn (aside from some Sega originals they made in abundance).

With the PS3 you have to have access to their account and be able to log in to their PSN or else the games or locked. As for the 3DS I think they are tied to the system kind of like how the Wii/DS did it. You can transfer your files from one 3DS system to another but it requires the systems to be right next to each other and takes a couple inputs from both systems so as long as the games are on the system when you get it you should be fine.
