Dusty was one of a kind, like Macho Man. Shame he never got to see an awesome Mania match between his two sons.

On a less morbid note, Lucha Underground this week, so awesome. They hyped up an Ironman match for next week where most pinfalls or submissions wins, and announced their first pay per view like event. Also:

Some badass bitches in Lucha Underground

Also pretty rad

RIP Dusty. The epitome of what pro-wrestling is. We put together a playlist of his best stuff.

Now this is how you do an iron man match, and this was for the championship too.

I found out last night that El Ray was on Charter so during and after ROH and TNA I watched Lucha Underground. Talks of some kind of medals and some guy serving a master wants to sacrifice Vampiro makes it hard to catch up. I feel like I've missed a lot as it seems more show based then other wrestling programs. Honestly, because of that I don't know what I thought of it. I do like Johnny Nitro or Mundo and of course Alberto so the 4 on 4 match was interesting.

It's structured like a regular television series rather than a wrestling show, so yeah there's going to be some confusion for a new viewer

Cliff notes:

Pentagon Junior has been breaking people's arms as "sacrifices" to his unknown (to the audience) master. Vampiro stopped him once, leading to Pentagon wanting to fight and "sacrifice" him. Because Vampiro is a commentator and retired from wrestling, he's been refusing the challenge.

Cueto (basically Lucha Underground's authority heel figure) has these seven medallions that he has people competing for. Supposedly, collecting them all will grant some kind of great power. Keep in mind Lucha Underground exists in a fantasy world where things like magic, mythical creatures, etc. are treated as real (and wrestlers can even die). So far Aerostar, Fenix and Jack Evans have each acquired one. Fenix however, has not been seen since Mil Muertes (basically Lucha Underground's Undertaker) power bombed him through the roof of some backstage area that has a door leading ringside, after which he pinned Fenix's motionless body. For a while I thought he kayfabe killed Fenix, but they confirmed this week that he is simply out of action for an unknown period of time after being destroyed by Mil Muertes.

Muertes and his valet Catrina are currently the baddest heels in Lucha Underground, even exerting their influence over Cueto (she once went to his office, grabbed his tie and was choking him with it until he gave Muertes a title shot, which got her to let him go). Muertes has been tearing through some of the top stars in Lucha Underground and has a match against the champion at Ultima Lucha. His cohorts, the Disciples of Death will be challenging the Trios champions at the same event. Lucha Underground's tag division is 3 on 3 matches and doesn't exclude women as competitors hence Ivelisse being one third of the Trios championship team.
