But, seriously, if someone says, "I am going to bomb my job and kill everyone here," they should be fired for their statements. Don't know how that isn't clear enough?
Nobody has argued otherwise
Yeah you did.

That line of thinking is a justification for blackmail, pure and simple. If you are being threatened with firings, public humillations or violence you do not have free speech in any meaningful sense.
It's like arguing you are free to strike as long as you prepare yourself to be beaten up, c'mon.
I was referencing a situation where a teacher was saying something that would endanger the kids he is teaching and would be fired as such and you say that is blackmail....somehow.

I think we are talking past each other Bogus. Let me explain my position better
1) Freedom of speech is meaningless if it doesn't translate into practical terms. If speaking your own mind translates to threats of violence, harrasment, firings or public humilliations, you do not have it because you are under coercion. (Blackmail was not the right word to use).
2) Freedom of speech, like any other right, is not absolute. For example, freedom of speech doesn't cover perjury, threats of violence or false testimony as it doesn't override the right to life or the right to one's honour.

The problem with your point 1 is that it's overly broad. If I say "hi" to someone on the street and they punch me in the face in response that isn't any kind of problem with the freedom of speech, rather it's them violating the law against assault. Now, I had absolutely no expectation that greeting someone would get me punched, while if I went into Harlem and started dropping the n-word I'd have a reasonable expectation that everyone in a two block radius would try and beat my ass. But that doesn't mean my freedom of speech is coerced away, as they are in the wrong for assaulting me (and engaging in battery).
Extending things, let's say you confided in me that you loved Sonic 2006. I can certainly ridicule you for that statement (and probably would) and I could bring it up in a public forum that you're the guy who enjoyed Sonic 2006 which convinced Sonic Team to keep making more terrible Sonic games. If you are claiming that your fear of that situation keeps you from telling people you like Sonic 2006 is blocking freedom of speech then that means what you consider to be freedom of speech doesn't actually exist the second more than one person exists.

I am really getting tired of buying Vita games, and then a year later the same game is rereleased with expanded additional content in tandem with the core original game. This has happened to me with Ragnarok Odyssey, Soul Sacrifice, Toukiden, and now Deception IV. You know what that makes your customer want to do? Not buy your games when you first release them, because they might as well wait a year and see if an upgraded version comes out. This is toxic to creating new IPs and new release sales in general. Instead of updating the original game, just make a proper sequel! Lazy devs and greedy publishers are really starting to get under my skin in this regard. There's practically an epidemic of this re-re-release up-up-updated games going on across multiple platforms in Japan. I understand why, but I don't agree with it.

That may be an eventual backlash for a lot of developers in the future, as this seems to be more and more the case. What is strange is that people still purchase them and don't care. They will buy it, buy the DLC and then buy the masterpiece edition with all the DLC. You would think at some point people would smart up. Me? I will just wait it out until those collections come out, unless it is a game that I am dying to play.

You could apply this to almost everygame released in the last 5 years.

What I was trying to do was buy interesting Vita games as soon as they released in order to encourage publishers to continue to release games on the platform in the USA. That's the only reason I was buying those games full price day zero. But when a year later they re-release the same game I already bought with significant updated content, it just irritates the piss out of me. I feel like the copy I bought is outdated and useless. Doesn't matter that it's still sealed, because its resale value is undermined by the new version. Well the hell with it. I'll start buying these games after they've been out a year and are second hand discounted. If others like me do the same, so be it. If the publishers suffer for it, they made that bed, now die in it.
@Damm64 - Well it's only affected me personally with the Vita.
I'm pretty sure you made this one up, cause aside from a cultural presence I'm fairly certain there is no legal precedence for this in modern western law (vague hand-waving about basic human dignity aside).
