This thread is slowing down, huh?

Finally got a Pro Controller today. Love it, so comfy.

My only issue is that the box cardboard was super "gluey" and I positively destroyed it getting the controller out. Generally I try to save the boxes but whatever - this will end up hooked to the system 24/7 anyway.

Enjoy the awesomeness of only having to charge that controller once every few months. Definitely one of the best.

Kinda hard to, when most of the Wii U news has been pretty slow; with the exception of amiibo Tap (which isn't anything to get terribly excited over), and Paper Mario on the Wii U Virtual Console. And Yooka-Laylee getting a Wii U release (but that's already got it's own separate thread).

That, and Nintendo is pretty adamant on letting you know that Splatoon is almost here. lol

I feel like if Nintendo is going to have these massive gaps in console exclusives, they need to look to their backlog and hit them heavy discounts to keep their customers on their console.

75% off a few retro games here and there, would cost them nothing and keep people interested in the console.

Nintendo productions and discounts?... this concept could never exist!

They did it well when the system was first out and there was a dry spell, with the 30c virtual console games. It gives its customers something to do with their console while waiting and also makes them feel like they are being looked after.

Other than letting the box sit there gathering dust.

I feel that Mario Party 10 was released, then forgotten about pretty quickly. I didn't buy it as I'm not huge on Mario Party games, but I did expected a bigger splash being the first new-gen MP game.

Did anyone grab it? Is it any good?

The problem is that the main mode of the game has everyone in one core vehicle. It isn't like the original Mario Party games where everyone was competing to get stars by moving separately around a board freely. Also mini-games are triggered by landing on specific spaces now instead of at the end of each round. They really need to change up how Mario Party is played and go back to a more traditional approach.

As for people thinking that not much is happening on the Wii U, it merely because we aren't thinking about it. You have games like Splatoon coming out in just a few weeks, which looks like a spectacular game. Nintendo has also been bombarding us with Xenoblade Chronicles X game footage and information about how their on-line features work and all of the various game mechanics.

They have also been focusing a lot on the various DLC packages and features that are rolling out like the recent Mario Kart track pack and the various DLC stuff for Smash Bros. to help extend the longevity of the current games in the system.

There was also a huge Nintendo Direct about the new Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem game and a vast array of independent titles on the eShop including the great exclusive game, Affordable Space Adventures.

This is all with stuff that is coming out in the near immediacy for the system and is not including the new Zelda & Star Fox. I think a lot of stuff is also kind of waiting for E3 to do any more big announcements. Nintendo tends to be a lot quieter than other game developers as E3 draws near. Most companies scream to the hilltops about what they will be showing and a lot of the stuff we end up seeing are things we already know. Nintendo keeps things close to their chest. It will be interesting to see.

I haven't liked Mario Party much since the N64 games.

I'm dying to play 200CC Mario Kart though, gotta check that out sometime. The DLC from what I saw of, a few new maps and characters, was pretty awesome. Though the Link spam was hilarious...

Related, I've ordered Duck Tales Remastered and have Rayman Legends sitting around. Stocking up some platformers! Rayman Legends I've played a bit of here and there before at a friends, it definitely seems awesome.

I'm trying to stay away so the reason I'm going to be buying a Wii U doesn't get spoiled to me
