So about first section on the last of us and final fantasy 7... spoilers.
Im the only one who dosen't care about the death of Joel's daughter? Yeah i now it's sad but every time i hear someone talking about they say it's the saddest thing they have ever seen? It's sad for Joel but why for me? She's only been around like 10 minutes, before the intro you didn't know she was in the game and since in the cover and hundreds of promotional material for the game you only see Joel and Ellie you are telling me that you feel sad for the most predictable death of the entire game? Even aeris of FF7 murder is more emotional than this since she was in your party and you probably already selecte her as your main healer then plot comes and poof she's gone, is not only sad for Cloud but for the player as well, both have loose someone important for them.
Maybe im just a awful human being.

Not totally the same, but I never liked seeing two versions of every Pokemon game either.
Hell, I'd argue this is better than the two versions of Pokémon, as the Pokémon games differ in a few available Pokémon and then in Ruby/Sapphire you had minor story differences due to the different teams.

And yet as a kid I understood the pokemon thing(two teams and such so two versions)....To be honest now I don't understand why with different chips and such back then(to give more space they could've managed it somehow it's not like it would've been that massive of a cart for both or all three sides since even the third versions were massively different but worth it more than the singular versions). The thing is though I almost wonder, if they are doing this now if it doesn't show how they operate and think several years behind other companies(even if it still does them well somehow...I think players are going to end up getting pissed and raise some hell but probably not enough to change it...). Also third version of every pokemon was the best of the gens(yellow, emerald, and etc just wasn't able to always get that version for some odd reason and I wish they just did what is the third version all the time)

EDIT: Darn it, thanks to my looking in the packing of my Japanese HM Game I'm now wanting Monstania(I looked up a couple let's play of it and darn it, I must have it now  )

So I know when I eventually pull the trigger on a Wii U:

What is the deal with the Wii U controller set up? They don't sell extra game pads......so I guess you only need one? What is the normal 2 player set up here? A game pad and the normal-looking controller? Wouldn't you want two of the same??? I've been playing games since the mid-80s and Nintendo has somehow managed to make this unclear to me.

No. You only need one game pad. If you want a second controller, spring for the pro controller. The game pad acts as a particular mode of play. Games like Nintendoland have the gamepad doing something different than those who are using the wiimotes. The same goes for games like Mario Party and for games like ZombiU.

Ok, it just seems weird for someone to buy everything necessary plus Mario Kart for example, and the two people playing are using different controllers.

^ You can have 4 people playing with 4 different controllers!

A lot of games allow you to use the remote, remote + nunchuck, and/or Classic Controller (on top of being able to use the Gamepad or Pro Controller).

Not to mention the gamecube controller that they're selling now too

Yeah but it's necessary in the case of Pokemon which focuses on socializing and trading with other players.

Here they're literally taking one game with two factions and splitting it into half games.

It's been done before with handheld Transformers games but this is a lot higher profile than that.

Is monstania worth it to pick up? I saw it on a insert in my bojuko monogatari and man it sounds interesting from what I've seen...is it really that interesting to warrant picking it up? (there's a patch for it and it's a srpg which I don't have enough of for a decent variety)
