This kind of thing makes me really questions if I want to play games on the original Dreamcast hardware

I guess same reason why people like to watch horror movies on VHS

After playing with Fallout and Fallout 2 some I want to play some of the new games again. But I'm PS3 now, so they don't run for crap, and I'm scared I'll get tired of them again. But I'm really getting the itch.

And I'm honestly surprised that this is the "amazing" writing and stories I kept hearing about. There's some good stuff, but the Bethesda games have put out stories just as good, with the same basic types of quests. (Talk to this person, deliver this, go in this cave and kill this) I will concede that there are more options for completing quests, but otherwise I'm not that impressed. There was also all the talk about the old west feel in the early Fallouts. I don't see it. New Vegas had it, no question, but I don't see it nearly on the same level in 1 or 2.

Still good games, but they hype made me expect more.

Duke nukem forever is not as bad like some people say. It's not mind blowing either but it has some nice humor and fun segments in it.

Woah...almost thought the Wavebird I just picked up was broken. I tested it in Windwaker and Tales of Symphonia and the characters would act all wonky (in Tales Lloyd would keep pulling to the left). What I did was take apart the receiver and clean out some of the contacts that were in the motherboard, aaand viola it works perfect now! :D

While I think that Bethesda's writing is atrocious, I do agree that Fallout isn't particularly great. I think it has been propped up as one of those "good for a videogame" stories, specially since it's one of the few "Classic CRPGs".

Apparently Ninja Gaiden pacifist runs are a thing; that's where the only time you use your sword is on the bosses, so you don't even get powerups or health vials.

It does require a couple of game overs, though it looks like if he had gotten all the tricks and boosts on the first attempt it would only require one.

Crap....I started disassembling my gba sp and I have no clue if i'm doing it right, got the screen out of the blue now just need to somehow manage to get the black's screen out and put it into the blue o_O

Edit: Yay! Got the black working again(minus l button still...apparently that is just busted from what I can tell, I've got it hooked back in like the blue's were, and stole the blue's speaker.). I still don't understand what has been done...sigh...guess it might be time to order a replacement l button...

I think a large part of the praise comes from the fact that most missions can be completed multiple ways. I could be diplomatic, I might do really well because I'm stupid (on rare occasion), I could kill everyone, I could pay someone off, etc.

But the fact that the "chosen one" for a village could be an absolute idiot who punches robots until they die really makes some questions come up about the writing for me.
