How come some new TV's movies look like homevideo or a play?
Like i"ll be at best buy and the latest tv playing a blu-ray movie the movie looks like hd home video and lost the whole theatrical look to the film? Is this due to the refresh rate?

Yep, the 120hz feature on some of the newer TVs do that.

I describe as the soap opera effect. But it does look like a home video as well.
I turned this "feature" off as soon as possible on my new hdtv
