A fix is now in the works, and relatively close to completion, that will allow the Indiana religious freedom law to protect the religious liberties of individuals while ensuring that it is not used as a tool for discrimination in the marketplace against individuals based on their sexual preference or gender identity. This will bring the IN law more in line with the federal and state religious freedom laws adopted elsewhere.

I wonder if this is going to turn into a Bush-vs-Clinton dynasty poop race. Rand Paul is cool I suppose, but methinks it's too late to stop the money-paper printers at this stage with mainstream politics.

Give it time. See who else declares. There's a lot of interest on the Democrat side to see Elizabeth Warren run, and the Republic contest is a wide field of hopefuls that have yet to really start battling for dominance. I don't see this being just another Bush-vs-Clinton clash just yet.Pulsar_t wrote:I wonder if this is going to turn into a Bush-vs-Clinton dynasty poop race. Just look at that hair, Cotton: it's beautiful! Feathered and lethal; you just don't see that these days.

Personally I want Rand Paul to get the nomination and choose Scott Walker as his VP, so we can have signs that say Paul-Walker.Ack wrote:Give it time. See who else declares. I don't think that Hillary is the inevitable choice here. She's got a lot of baggage. I also don't like Jeb Bush at all, and I'm hoping beyond all hope he's not the Republican nominee. Choosing the "establishment" candidate certainly hasn't served the GOP very well the last few times.
Rand Paul is an interesting guy. I don't think he fell too far from the tree as compared to his father, but he's a lot better at not coming across looking as loony. I still remember going to hear Ron Paul speak at my university. Half the time I was like, "Heck yeah!" The other half, it was me being embarrassed at even being in the room.
Really, I'd probably take anyone in the GOP field over Hillary, though. Even *shudder* Jeb or Chris Christie.
Elizabeth Warren is another thing entirely, and I probably think about her (and Bernie Sanders) what most here think about the more hardcore conservatives, so we'll just leave it at that.

When it comes to his education and pre-political career, Rand Paul's sort of a fraud:

Politicians are sort of fraudsters by definition.
And as usual the dirt has been dug up at the right moment. The game never changes.
