I have played it on both of the spinners I linked to. Personally I like the feel of the Ultimarc one more, but thats just me. I really like that it has two standard weights for different feels - one that is 1 1/8th inch (aka arcade button sized) the other is 2inch. The bigger weight means you can use it for say a CNC application or an editing controller if you need to, or if you have a friend who is over zealous...dsheinem wrote:Hmm, looks intriguing. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I wanted a Jagcd for a while, I just cant justify that much for finicky hardware with no real games I want to play. But it makes the Jaguar look AWESOME. I need to just get a broken one to slot into my Jaguar when it is hooked up.noiseredux wrote:Bone, not sure if you *care* about this, but I think JagCD is the only way to get into Jaguar homebrew. Just saying.
One thing I haven't wondered about in the past (but not recently enough to know a recent answer) is if there's any decent emulation of Jaguar... Pretty much the only console games I buy anymore are disc-based ones that I can play on PC. Always fun to find another library to add to that potential pool.
And you can do homebrew on a Skunkboard, if you can buy one.

^^
Just out of curiosity how much on average do they fetch nowadays?
I think I recall getting my Jag CD for about $150 and change. That was back in '08 or '09.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
So I see a Hori Gamecube controller for a great price, but the only issue is that it has a broken cable. I wonder how hard it is to fix broken controllers like this?

I feel as though you're coming in high... I can't remember the name of the site and 95% of gaming/shopping sites are blocked at work so I can't google, but there's a site out there that I found from atariage.com (also blocked here) forums... the site looks straight out of 1997, but they sell a ton of Jag stuff, mostly NOS with the occasional used/refurb, and I think they sell it cheaper. Like, half that price. But I can't find it right now so I have no facts to back up my words.fastbilly1 wrote:Around $300 unboxed. $5-600 boxed.

$250 boxed/shrinkwrapped JagCD. Believe it or not from the looks of the site but it's legit. Still expensive, but way more reasonable.

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

I remember that site too. Haven't visited it in about 3 years though. Wonder if it still exists?
