Perhaps I should just drink Irish coffee or rum and cokes all day and see what happens.

I used to have a thing for coffee liqueurs. I was into Copa De Oro and Kahlua. Mexico knows what they're doing when it comes to being a caffeinated drunk.

Try this. I bring home a bottle every time I visit Bone in Maine.

Looks like my local liquor store will have to up its importing chops. Or I just need to find a company that will ship it to me.

Not that Irish creme doesn't taste okay, it's just that it's such a tease and doesn't have much flavor at all. It's like whipped cream with a dash of vanilla extract. If you're having a drink that has alcohol in it, you shouldn't have to ask "Is there alcohol in this?".

I'd typically speak up and explain my own displeasure for schnapps in general, but I am afraid you'd think it was evidence that I hated your very existence.

Not always, a subtle alcohol flavor is acceptable and desired in many drinks. I prefer liqueurs in the winter when a slight buzz is all you need. During the summer, I mostly drink homemade wine and cider, but it helps that I can get both easily.

A slight buzz is enough to get the warmth of the drink through your body, without killing the night. Not everyone has to drink to excess.
