Looking to get rid off a collection, thoughts?

well... what you CAN do if you still want to use the original hardware without keeping a collection... is to use a flashcart and throw a boatload of roms on there. Takes up zero space and avoids emulation.

Super Double Dragon is like those crazy kung fu scenes that you see played in slow motion in movies. It's a whole game of that. Totally on purpose!

Hey, now, I actually liked Super Double Dragon! It is pretty slow, though.

For me the stages were too long and the action wasn't as crisp or immediate as the first 2 were. Graphics were nice, but that's about it.

If however you choose to forgo this advice, I'm likely interested in your NES collection. Possibly others if you're looking to do massive lump sales.

Blasphemy, Super Double Dragon is EASILY the best of the Double Dragon franchise. Coolest atmosphere, easiest to control, and the move where you grab the baddies arm and kick them in the face like fifty times is the greatest move in Beat 'Em Up history. But I digress.

The worst weekend was the weekend I grabbed Captain Planet and the Planeteers for NES. Or Silver Surfer. Those two left have left a permanent negative scar on my brain to this day.

Oh, and Home Alone for SNES.

Go for it Abe. You seem pretty set with your decision to part. I was at the exact same point with the exact same reasons about a year back. I sold off 20+consoles and around 400 games or so, all physical items that I too, had zero time for. I felt very guilty walking past everything day in and day out knowing that they would be better off with someone else who had the time to appreciate them, so, that's what I did. I would have loved to sell in one big lot, but, I parted it out by system, threw them up on Craigslist/Ebay. Everything sold very fast and haven't really looked back since. I kept a few games and consoles for sentimental purposes, but, I remember wondering if I would miss them once they were gone. I thought for sure I would, I started to have second and third and fourth thoughts, since I knew that this would really be it-no going back. No selling off, but then regretting the decision just to buy back what I sold off. I've done that about three times already, but this time, I simply couldn't afford it from a time and financial standpoint. So, I packed up the last box and dropped if off at the Post Office and I seriously no longer have the daily guilt and life is good. I still game when I can and have/keep a minimal collection and I'm good with it.

Do it. You won't regret it as much as those here say you will.

yeah let 'em go. digital copies and emulation exist. there are plenty of ways to scratch the gaming itch if you get it again.

I think in the end, he probably had his mind made up but just had to ask. Really though, I'd think if you're that far gone, it's just nerves and you don't need convincing to do it.

I'm not there yet, but I think if i could figure it out how to fit just one more pinball machine in this room as it is set up I'd more than likely sell off some serious games I have in that $75-300+ each range I have to do it. In all fairness I can not remember the last time I fired up a game on anything other than my laptop, 3DS or the PS4. I just have this little fear I'd regret it, but I really never have on stuff I have let loose before when it wasn't forced and I was willing.

You seem willing, you don't seem forced, so just go for it.
