When do you know to quit?
Re: When do you know to quit?
Better question: when do you know to quilt?
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

That is an enlightening article.J T wrote:It's called the sunk cost fallacy
I don't believe playing a game of oscillating entertainment factor equates to being an idiot or harming yourself. I'm not talking about running with bulls here.J T wrote:If not being a wuss means you have to be an idiot or do something to harm yourself, I think it's time to sit down and have a good hard think.
I'm talking about sometimes you start playing a game and it seems impossible, and then you push through it, and the game turns out amazing once you understand it. The King's Field series is a perfect example of this. But sometimes you push yourself to endure a hard game that simply is hard without merit. And then it would have been better to quit while you still felt intimidated.
That's a good way to put it, and I agree.J T wrote:Putting more time into a bad experience means you've not only wasted your money, but your time as well.
Personally I already make time every day for exercising. But any of us could replace any kind of entertainment with more important things. Games are no exception. But you've got to have that spoonful of sugar to make the life go down.J T wrote:it's always a good idea to ask yourself if you could be doing something better with your time right now, including non-gaming activities like exercising.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

I think entertainment is of the utmost importance. What's the point of living if life isn't any fun? People who slavishly pursue "productivity" don't make sense to me.Exhuminator wrote: Personally I already make time every day for exercising. Re: When do you know to quit?
I do not complete every game I start, but I beat almost all of them. Since I beat Military Madness and Return Fire last summer, the only two games I have started, but not beaten are:
Odin Sphere (PS2); and
R-Type Delta (PS1).
Odin Sphere just bored me to tears, and I will have my revenge on R-Type Delta this summer...

Using subtitles to annotate an image, that's awesome.

You're probably right. R-Type Delta is probably going to kick my ass again...
