Picked up Soldiers of Fortune over the weekend. That's been on the want list for quite sometime. I've got Chaos Engine from GOG for the PC but I like the console version a little more. Looks great on the Retron 5 as always.

As for Raiden, it will be our 3rd collaboration between SOTM & Together Retro. As with Ikaruga from last year, I'll keep a scoreboard active in both the TR and SOTM thread. If Trad is enough of a deviation from the original, I'll make it a separate scoreboard. There's no reason why it can't be discussed (or even scores posted) in the official TR thread. I want to see you guys play this.

Speaking of, maybe I might have a new want list entry now  (I've already got Raiden Legacy from GOG)

Hell yeah, I beat it finally a couple of years back. Soldiers of Fortune is an awesome game. I've also got it on GOG but prefer it on SNES as well.

Yes, it's much easier to get into and navigate on the SNES.

Finished Gradius III (on Easy, there's no effing way that's getting beat on Normal), finished Axelay, working on Phalanx now. Also plowing through both Secret of Mana and EarthBound again. SNES times are good.

about 10 years ago I was playing Gradius on an emulator. I got to a level where there was a huge ship that fills the screen. There is no way above it or below it to pass through so I kept crashing into it and I quit playing the game.

Any one know which Gradius is this? There is a good chance its part 3

On my next day off, I will begin a journey that I'm ashamed to say I've never taken before (owing to my general preference for real carts over emulation or even flash carts)...

For the first time, I'm going to approach Chrono Trigger. I know, I know, shocking and appalling. But I just got a sweet forum hookup on it, so now is the time
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

I found 4 for $20 at a super rare find for the flea, 3 of them were SNES games which I'm tempted to just keep, one of them I had actually had and sold just to fund my Pinbot machine which was Super Contra, the others are DKC2 and XMen, the other was the amazing mirror kirby gba game.

I haven't fired up Contra in years. Maybe it's a sign I should keep it eh?

One of my friends from college was real big into JRPGs; she loved FFVI and VII as well as SoM and some other PSX era ones. A couple years ago I found out she hadn't played Chrono Trigger. I had to command her to drop everything and play, and she loved every minute.
