So anyone playing those games? Currently I'm into Depth, Rising Storm and Insurgency. Those are full games without stupid pay-to-win mechanics. WarThunder is frustrating, and Heroes & Generals is just plain boring despite its high player count (If only RO2 had this playerbase, and it costs the price of a few cosmetic DLC items from its competitors)
The design philosophy is absurd. Even if you decide to spend to ease your pains, there will be players willing to spend more. It becomes more of a chore than actual enjoyment.
I have so little trust for these kinds of games, that I rarely play them.
As soon as I realize I'm going to have to create an account to play, or I have to watch a bunch of ads, or I see a powerup that can be purchased with real money, then I immediately lose interest. There is no way to know if this game is going to put you in a chokehold that forces you to pay2win, so I don't invest my time as soon as I see the possibility for that.
It's not just the fact that you have to pay either, because I will pay for my games. I just don't like the whole design philosophy because it requires marketing during game-time, which detracts from my immersion in the game and forces me to routinely consider if aspects of the game are worth paying for or should be ignored. It just sucks the fun out of the game when you have a beggar asking for spare change throughout your quest.
