F3AR?

3EAR?

I think threear is better.

For $5 right now you get the first one and its two expansion packs on GOG. That's a slam dunk.

I really liked all three of the FEAR games, and would probably say that FEAR 2> FEAR > FEAR 3. The add on content/expansions are all fun too. Great series!

Busting it out slowly on Far Cry 3. I'm liking the game. Story wise I have some things I'm not on board with, but its good overall.

I am playing Shadow Warrior on PS4, this game has really worn out its welcome. I thought it would be a nice little 5 hours game or so, I am on chapter 12/17 and so far most chapters take an hour each.

I checked on HLTB and it puts the average play through in at 12 and a half hours, for the "old school" shooter style it has, that is a really long time. I can feel the game becoming really grindy, just want to finish it at this point.

Don't get me wrong its good, but too much of a good thing.

The controls have really killed that game for me :? mapping stuff to the touch pad feels awful.

I'm thinking of re-playing Rage.

Yeah I just couldn't get into the new Shadow Warrior.

Wolfenstein The New Order on the other hand was top notch.

Hey Ds, since FEAR 2 is now on GOG, I realized that I have yet to play the expansions for the first. What are your thoughts on Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate? How long are they? Which one would be a better choice to start with?

Start with Extraction Point, as that picks up immediately after the ending of FEAR. I'm pretty sure it's non-canon, but it's entertaining. It basically is just "remember FEAR? Here's some more levels". Perseus Mandate I think is a little more interesting because there's a few new weapons and enemies in it, though the story is from a new viewpoint character and it's not very strong. They both have solid gameplay and I think are worth playing.

I knocked out the 4th episode of Heretic the other day; once I finally got a good run on the first stage things went fairly smoothly. The second stage did require some resource management, but past that it was just "kill all the dudes" without having to worry. I've put some time in the 5th episode and I had an awesome run going, but then I noobed out and got shot into the lava off the bridge by the fireballs (which do an insane amount of damage; the lava is just a minorly damaging floor). That annoyed me so I hung it up and might try again tonight.

I'd echo MrPopo's thoughts on order. I don't recall how long they are to be honest...I feel like maybe each one was about half as long as FEAR itself.
