The new TR was stellar I thought. I loved the way that Lara grows throughout the game, with the way that they have her character act at the beginning, shivering, cold, leaning on walls or stumbling through the world and by the end just being a total badass. Felt like Uncharted combat done right. Absolutely jacked for the next installment this year.TheSegaSaturnGuy wrote:Started playing Tomb Raider Definitive Edition last night and I must say it is pretty awesome. Love games that implement creative ways of moving around. Makes the game a real treat to navigate around in and is probably one of the main reasons why TF2 is one of my favorite FPS's of all time. The movement mechanics of Scout, Demoman, and Soldier are amazing. I'll check out Rex Rocket. Game also looks beautiful.Sarge wrote:Anyway, it kinda uses an idea from Cave Story with the gun that lets you hover. You don't quite hover in this one, but it can slow your decent, and a charge shot will launch you higher. The aesthetic of the game is definitely retro, and I've found that it's not just a layer to say, "Hey, remember this?" The game itself is great, too. Hopefully I'll find some time to finish it up tonight.
TR DE was a pleasant suprise to me as well. Also, surprsingly, was the first Tomb Raider game i've ever played to completion. I didn't really like the ending that much, but the entirety of the game was a lot of fun to play. Also, I used the voice commands for the PS4 so much in that game. I ended up taping the packed-in PS4 microphone to my PS4 controller and constantly using the commands to change weapons/ammo types. I havn't used in game voice commands in any other games like I did with TR.TheSegaSaturnGuy wrote:Started playing Tomb Raider Definitive Edition last night and I must say it is pretty awesome. Re: What are you playing?
I went back to Endess Ocean: Blue World last night, and now I've got about 9 hours in it. This is such a forward thinking, innovative, amazing game. It makes me sad to think how many gamers passed this one up thinking it would be boring. It's not boring whatsoever. Blue World is far more "gamey" than the original Endless Ocean. This one combines elements of simulated diving, adventure puzzle solving, exploration galore, loot gathering, gear upgrading, and so much more. Also there's a strong story present here, with party members you collect over time each with their own special abilities. They will dive with you, or you can bring a pet instead (you befriend certain sea creatures), or dive alone. There's also tons of side missions to do if you want. Just a class act game so far. Totally recommended for anyone wanting to play something more innovative than say a run of the mill cinematic cover shooter.

Just started up Majora's Mask, like 5 minutes in. Already a pretty engrossing game. Lots of interest around how the world relates to OoT and who the heck this Skull Kid and who does he think he is??!?

If not, then you are in for a real treat. There is still nothing out there quite like it.

kind of hoping to see a bunch of dudes playing Majora's Mask at once since it's on 3DS now. I had been considering loading up my GCN copy to play in Dolphin. I haven't played that game in years.

Re: What are you playing?
I bought the game at least, but it will be a bit before I play Majora on 3DS. I still need to play ALBW and Skyward Sword first. Looking forward to it eventually though.

I have not. I've never even loaded it up. When it came out I hadn't beaten Ocarina of Time yet and since I was hesitant to get something possibly related without finishing the predecessor the stars never aligned.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Have you never played it before?Stark wrote:Just started up Majora's Mask, like 5 minutes in. Re: What are you playing?
I'm through the first dungeon right now. I've gotten pretty far in the original release, but stopped playing for some reason. I think it was encountering a crash bug in the GC release after a particularly difficult section. Then I didn't know where I was in the Stone Tower Temple, so... I'm hoping the 3DS version ends up the one I beat.

Speed/Bingo Math on Commodore 64. Surprisingly fun and frantic. Developed by Midway!
