Actually I find bubblegum punk really dorky.

Which makes prog metal the utmost pinnacle of dorkiness. And like you said I love it all. Thrash, Black, Death, Power, Sludge, Viking, NWOBM, Grind, Doom; it's all good, and all super dorky. I mean the IMN is really a thing for a reason. :D

What a bunch of dross. All that hair metal is hellabad. How could anyone enjoy that crap just because?

Getting the Poison tape before it was censored made me feel like a righteous dude.

Yeah I gotta admit he kinda lost me at this part:
Rush took something that should be cool and nerded it up. Rush is the same thing as people that still get boners over Star Wars. It’s like, take it easy. I mean I could try and be very democratic about it and be like “Well, everybody’s got their own thing,” but you know… Rush was fine, but I’m not fucking with nerds with their seven-string bass, like, “Oh, but iambic pentameter!” Shut up. They’re ruining everything that’s cool about rock ’n’ roll.
Which totally misses the point. What's cool about rock & roll is precisely that it can't be bounded by any one person's perception of what it is (or is not). Once you try to squeeze it into a mold, it's just going to pop out in different and unexpected ways. So yes, while it's true that Geddy Lee sings like an hysterical woman on helium, it doesn't mean they don't rock your face off. :x Don't fuck with Rush man.

I was joking. Wax Trax put out as much lovable cheese as they did good stuff at their height. I could pretty much pick up anything on the label and be guaranteed a pretty good time. Now that I'm older, I can see that some of it is not so good and some things I missed back in the day I have trouble getting into hearing them for the first time now. However almost everything I have from back in the day I can happily enjoy the cheese.

Pretty decent article about Wax Trax.

I honestly never understood what was so bad about Geddy Lee's singing. I always thought he sounded fine and fit the music well?
