I like fictional sports games like Metal Drift, Super Baseball 2020, or Smash TV.

We can add the Xbox exclusive Death row to that list.

I'll mention Mario Golf and Mario Tennis. The GBC and GBA games are great and the N64 and Gamecube versions still hold up as well. Heck, most Mario sports games are still a lot of fun.

Here are some others depending on what's considered a sport:
Virtua Tennis series - Dreamcast
Kunio-Kun Dodgeball (don't remember actual name - GBA
NHL '94 - Genesis
Tony Hawk Pro Skater - the first four games on many systems
1080 & 1080 Avalanche - N64 and Gamecube
SSX Tricky - Gamecube (extra Mario characters)
Snowboard Kids 1 and 2 - N64
My FS/FT/WTTF list:

Game Systems Owned:
NES, NES 2 (AV mod), SNES, SNES 2, N64 (Pikachu), N64 original (boxed), Gamecube (Orange, Silver, Purple), Wii, Wii U (Zelda), GB Pocket, GBA (2x-Arctic & Indigo), GBA SP (3x), DS Lite (Crimson/Black), 3DS (Aqua Blue), Sega Genesis and 32X, Game Gear, Lynx, PSP (2x), Vita, and Gold PS4.

JT with Smash TV, EPIC!!

Considering myself an RPG Gamer at heart, I can't believe the amount of sports games I loved growing up (or other genres for that matter lol).

These are the ones on my shelf 30 yrs from now.

T&C Surf Designs- this is the O.G for me I have mastered the shit out of this game I can Ollie whole levels and land 1080's during the Surf comps with NO Game Genie! Hehe this game is brilliant and gorgeous.

Virtua Tennis 3- this is new to my collection but the wife approves it's tight like a tiga. We had a few rounds the other night, it's all I can ask for being a casual Tennis video game player.

Outlaw Volleyball- still holds up after all these years, I don't get tired of the potty humor and I like the characters actually, plus when getting your ass beat just use a fight token and then literally whoop some arse.

ESPN Extreme Games- I really, really love PS1 Launch titles, especially this one I was just addicted back then with Twisted Metal, Loaded, Wipeout, Jumping Flash, Toshinden, Ridge Racer all of them. I was like holy shit Sony killed Nintendo! After all these years as of recently I just realizes ESPN is Road Rash with luge, boards, blades and Bikes SICK!! (Some what steep learning curve and or bad object placements lol)

3 Xtreme- After the abomination of 2 Xtreme, I was on the fence with 3, but it does get really good especially with everything unlocked. You know what just go ahead and cheat and use the unlock codes and enjoy!

Coolboarders 1,2, 3- My babies emm, loved making Wu-Tang boards in the editor. Part 3 is the pinnacle, but all are classics!

NFL Gameday 98- Yup even starting a season again this year, still fun, still good. Plus "the Bus" Jerome Bettis on the cover. I think I like it so much cause you can spam the Hail Mary Pass like all the time lol.

THPS 1 & 2- Seriously everyone knows this is the shit. Try THPS 2X for a more recent update to both 1&2 combined.

Skate 2- This has dethroned THPS IMO if you want one of the most amazing skateboard games ever made.

DOA Xtreme Volleyball Xbox- Crazy, Sexy, Cool, now don't go chasing waterfalls. Seriously though I use this game to infiltrate girls that I can't be friends with in real life without having sex with them. I play to be a great companion to them so I can unlock see through underwear basically, also the games are fun and very chill vibe all round (cause I'm chill around chicks)

My honorable mentions- been there done that.
Madden 06
Hot Shots Golf PS1 Era
Winter Olympic type games because I'm patriotic during the events.
California Games- master the frisbee and then claim yourself decent.
NES Baseball games-can't go wrong
Neo Geo Baseball (all stars is it?)
Double Dribble- take that EA we don't need your licenses.
NBA Jam- Game is God
Blades of Steel- See Above
Jordan VS Bird- I don't know about you but this was good in the hood back in the days, literally I spent a lot of time in the projects growing up and yes I did make it out.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

On the subject of GOLF if anyone wants to download the totally free Pangya for PC, I'd love to play against my doods instead of lurking in stranger lobbies...

Neo Turf Masters on the Neo Geo is probably one of the best golf games ever made

NBA Hangtime is a superior sequel imo to NBA Jam and is my favorite basketball game

Tecmo Super Bowl on the NES is one of the most fun football games and has a huge cult following and has romhacks every year where the rosters are updated.

Ice Hockey on the NES is an extremely simple but addictive and easy to pick up and play with a friend.

Super Side Kicks 3 and Super Side Kicks 4 Ulitimate 11 on the Neo Geo are probably the most fun Soccer games I ever played.
