Ha ha, yeah we could do this all day, it's obvious you're not a Colors fan.

I am tempted to make strong arguments towards why Another Code R should be included in the top 25, but I guess it's a bit too esoteric. It will be interesting to see how the list turns out once the dust settles.

"The 25 best Wii games" That would include New Super Mario Bros Wii

"The 25 games still relevant today [10 years on]" Wouldn't.

"Games that defined the Wii" Would include Wii Sports.

"The 25 best Wii games" Probably wouldn't- it would include Wii Sports Resort.

I see that Klonoa is on Honorable Mentions. I think it and maybe Red Steel 2 should replace a couple on the current first post list. I'd pick either Galaxy 1 or 2 depending on if you value novelty or refinement more. I'd drop Fire Emblem because it needs to be played only after the GC game for the full experience. Prime Trilogy and RE 4 are tough ones because I think anyone that plays them back-to-back with the GameCube originals will see there was a certain genius to their original implementation on the GC controller. Silent Hill is also far worthier to move up to the 25 than a few of the current titles in Honorable Mentions.

It's simple: this list is the games that 10 years from now, you'll still be playing.

Personal preference/genre preference has a lot to do with all of our choices, and it's highly unlikely we're ever going to agree on a mutual top 25. We'll probably agree mostly that some titles are unequivocally good, while some are unequivocally bad, and others are in that grey area defined solely by preferences.

Many of the games we're discussing here ARE in my library and will CONTINUE to be in it, REGARDLESS of this top 25 discussion. When it all hashes out, it's not like the top 25 will invalidate any of our own personal choices. Hell, Elebits is probably in my top 5/top 10, but virtually no-one will agree. Same for the Ultimate Shooting Collection debate, or Ghost Squad. It all boils down to personal preferences.

PERSONALLY, I love to see people defend titles that other people disregard. It's all part of the fun. 8)

I would absolutely put Another Code R on the list.

I'd also support Sky Crawlers, which someone mentioned earlier. Unlike Mjmjr, I happen to think that Mario Strikers Charged is not only a massive improvement on the gamecube game, it's easily one of the best games on Wii U.

The list also needs Rhythm Heaven Fever for sure. A fantastic entry in a fantastic series, and notably different in playstyle to the DS one. Most people prefer the Wii game (I'm not one of them, but I still think it should be on the list).

Well many story driven games are not something you'd replay over and over though. Or at least I would not. That means using your criteria I could only include genres like racing, platforming, shooting... stuff that revolves less around story.

For me the 10 years thing means games that are still worth playing for the first time a decade from now even for people who missed them that long ago.

Not saying you're wrong, just how I see it.

The list looks good to me.

I would probably replace something with A Boy and His Blob since I am a proponent of that game's virtues, but it is difficult to say what I would replace. Accordingly, the list is probably as good as it is going to get.

How about we expand the list by 20% and cap it at 30. That should solve all the issues and 30 games isn't that much more of an investment in one's gaming library than 25. 30 would get us Super Mario Bros Wii, Sonic Colors, Wii Sports Resort, and two more borderline cases.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I shall critique the current list because why not:

1. Super Mario Galaxy <---Yes.
2. Super Mario Galaxy 2 <---No it's redundant for the purpose of the list.
3. Xenoblade Chronicles <---Yes.
4. Zack and Wiki Quest for Barbaro's Treasure <---Yes.
5. Metroid Prime Trilogy <---No, because the first two are not originally Wii games, just put Metroid Prime 3 there.
6. Resident Evil 4 <---No, this was a GC game.
7. Donkey Kong Country Returns <---I hate this game but whatever.
8. Little King's Story <---Yes.
9. Fortune Street <---Yes.
10. Punch-Out! <---Yes.
11. Kirby's Epic Yarn <---Yes.
12. Skyward Sword <---Yes.
13. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn <---No, because it's not entirely a standalone experience.
14. No More Heroes <---Yes.
15. Trauma Team <---Yes.
16. Wario Land Shake It! <---Yes.
17. Kirby Return to Dreamland <---No, because this game is just derivative as hell from past Kirby games.
18. Tatsunoko v Capcom <---Yes.
19. The Last Story <---Yes.
20. Pandora's Tower <---Yes.
21. Endless Ocean: Blue World <---Yes.
22. Muremasa <---Yes.
23. Sin and Punishment <---GOD YES.
24. Excitebots <---Yes.
25. Wii Sports <---Yes.

So I see at least five games there that could be replaced with Wii entries that personally I feel are more deserving... such as Sonic Colors or perhaps Sonic Colors.
