So what have you guys been watching lately?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Syfy's 12 Monkeys looks promising.
I'm still not convinced. I don't see how a Terry Gilliam movie could be turned into a good TV show.
Eh there's little on that interests me so I'm willing to give it a chance

You guys should check out PKD's The Man in the High Castle on Amazon Prime. Free streaming.

The 12 Monkeys TV show feels like a bit of an expanded and altered take on what was adapted into the movie.

It's really just taking the premise of the movie and characters and paying homage when it makes sense, but otherwise doing its own thing.

The first episode was compelling and well played. We'll have a better idea once the season is over, but I hope the quality continues.

Speaking of Amazon Prime, it looks like just today they made Justified Season 5 available for Prime (It was pay only before). Just in time ... sort of.

As I already have stated, TMNT, the original animated series. To the point where I can play the theme on piano, accordion, and trumpet (I play by ear).

Fun, silly stuff.

Lots of ESPN's Happy Hour (ATH & PTI) and Always Sunny.

ATH's music is so weird these days. It sounds like something you would hear in a 70's porno. The show is still fairly solid, but the focus on style over journalism is weird.

It's a fairly regular occurrence that I find myself behind the times and out of touch in terms of my TV viewing habits. Part of this is due to the fact that I seldom, if ever, watch TV when I'm by myself. If I find myself alone and with free time, chances are I'm gaming. For me watching TV and movies is ideally a communal experience, whereas 99% of my gaming is a solitary activity (I tend to actively avoid any sort of online gaming; local multi-player is always good though). So when all of these factors are coupled with the fact that my wife and I have very different viewing habits, it takes a while for me to finally get around to watching the stuff that I want to watch.

So preamble aside, my wife and I finally started watching Game of Thrones this week. I'll just say what the rest of the world has known for quite some time now; this series is awesome and Sean Bean is the absolute bomb (Am I the only one who pronounces his name as "Seen Bean" in my head every time I see it written?). Winterfall for life! Norteños!!

The rebirth of wrestling on American television. I can't express enough just how MASSIVE the gulf in quality is between what they are putting out and the garbage TNA/WWE puts out. Even Ring of Honor can't touch Lucha Underground right now. All the wrestling nerds are gushing over New Japan Pro Wrestling right now as the flavor of the week. While their product is admittedly excellent(and I whole heartedly recommend them), Lucha Underground is much more exciting right now and far more accessible to non-Japanese speakers. It has some of that energy and excitement that ECW had when they first came on the scene, and they are kind of breaking new ground like ECW did.

One of the coolest things I've seen in wrestling in a long time is a guy flying out of the ring, taking out two guys, landing on his feet, and high fiving Danny Trejo in the front row and seeing all that happen in a matter of seconds. Only in Lucha Underground.

Really cool series. I'm a natural-born skeptic, so I love that we have something like this to watch. Of course, I don't actually agree with everything Penn says, (I am a skeptic afterall) but these guys always have an entertaining way to express their argument. The famous bottled water episode is brilliant television. If I could level one criticism at this show, it's that later episodes start preaching to the choir and employing strawman arguments. Otherwise, I love P&T's Bullshit.

I love it, man. This show was my childhood. There's so much goofy irreverence, and so many pop-culture references. What a cool show to re-watch as an adult. The next mutation, on the other hand, does not hold up so well.

And again I wonder why Tabletop Simulator doesn't have embedded video support.
