Ah Spawn. Not many good reviews for it out there, but I played the arcade version long before I got it for the DC. My favorite thing to do is crank the difficulty to 8 and set 20 minute Team or Battle Royal modes and see how much I can win byCD AGES wrote:I luvs Outtrigger. A wonderful arcade gem for the console. How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?

As for Spawn ITDH, the critics were pretty harsh on the game. I remember Gamers Republic Mag gave it a fair review with a B grade. That review really was what convinced me to buy they game. The game was def Capcom at their most unconventional yet also at their most ambitious IMO.
You sir are lucky to have had the chance to play the actual Naomi arcade release.
I've always wanted to find high level play for the game. Luckily a nice friend of mine was able to find some good footage online that is rather recent (2010-2011) from Japan. The game truly shines in Multiplayer! Just a damn shame Capcom didn't provide Vs. Link support.

This persons page is filled with ITDH Arcade Multiplayer footage.

Yes, many reviews aren't all that favorable towards it, mainly for control issues or the fact they made it like an arena-style FPS. But yes, I had 2 places where I was able to play it and they both were 3 cabinet linked units, of course there were hidden characters and I'd always pick Dark Ages Spawn with his 2-Handed SwordCD AGES wrote:As for Spawn ITDH, the critics were pretty harsh on the game. The DC port adds the tournament mode and even more unlockable characters which is nice.

I don't understand the bad rap that In the Demon's Hand got. It was one of my favorites that i played in High School with my buddies. Unlocking all of the characters and blowing through the stages was actually quite awesome. The co-op nature of it was quite amazing.
Some of the characters are really really cool and there's a lot of variety to play, which is nice for an Arena battler.
The people playing have some real skill though, leaps and bounds ahead of what we could do. Still some sloppy play there from that video you shared though, falling into lava, etc. Just some bad luck?

A friend of mine ended up having a DC serial cable that he's giving me.Blu wrote:There's a save file on Game FAQs that you could download, that has completion of the game and all songs unlocked -- I'm not sure if that means the ones you could unlock by going to the website or not.
EDIT:
Can you imagine shaking maracas to "Let's Go Away" -- I might pick up ver.2000 solely for that reason!
As I explained to Noise yesterday with the DC-SD adapter, I have no interest in spending time to make it work. But that said, i'm currently running DBAN on my old Dell Poweredge so I can set up a PC-DC server to get online and utilize its serial ports to transfer the save files over. If I can get one of the two working, i'll be happy. If not, it could be mighty satisfying to bust up this old server.
I've got those GameFAQ's files bookmarked. We'll see how this goes!
Let's Go Away
Could be fun! Not sure how I feel about the waving motions in Samba 2000. There seem to be a lot of them and I have enough trouble with the poses as it is!

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Spent an hour trying to be able to send a save file to the VMU with the serial cable.
No dice.
Boot up Dream Explorer and burn the VMU save file to a disc...
I've got the save file transferred in a couple seconds. Without any special hardware.
Why didn't I run into this option until now?
If you're looking to transfer saves from the internet onto your VMU. Use Dream Explorer. It is very quick and very simple.

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Do you mean you saved it directly to the VMU? How did you save something using Dream Explorer, do you have a link you'd be willing to share?
