I'm not saying it is the game's fault, I'm just explaining why I don't like Metroidvanias.

This video of Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, the composer of Daytona USA composer singing "Let's go away" is the best thing you'll see today. Seriously, the dude is as cheesily fun as the song itself: :D

Making sprite art is one of the most satisfying parts of game development, in my opinion.

Arcade collecting is like a god damned virus...

The shooting in Destiny feels really darn good and it's also pretty beautiful but man an hour in and I can already tell they totally dropped the ball on the story. Talk about phoned-in performances. The VO sounds like a game from 1995.

I tried to explain to my wife that MVS carts were indeed arcade games.

I would have had better luck explaining it to my toddler.

It starts with MVS carts. Then CPS2, because oh god so many good games for it, plus they're still "carts"... sorta.... Then you're eyeing up ST-V because Sega (and Darksoft's cart), and PGM because it's like MVS's more Chinese cousin.

And that's where I am right now. With my home renovation all but paid off, I know I'm buying some high end custom sticks soon because I have 6-button fighting games to be played.... but after that, I'm already trying to decide where I would put a couple cabs. The answer is "Screw you Dave, you don't have room for them" but somehow I can feel the addiction setting in and trying to rearrange rooms in my head.
