I just get a somewhat masochistic vibe from you, so I was joking about it.

Getting called smart or suggesting something similar hasn't been a compliment for me for a very long time. Its a label, an idea. I'd rather be stupid, and most people who call me smart are just as if not smarter than me. I just don't like it, at all. Just kidding, but man...seriously, appreciate the gifts you've been given in life. There are people who would give anything to be considered "smart" by their peers. You can always find a way to look at something in a negative light, but those are first world problems. You know?

I don't mean that I want my future profession looked at as dumb luck, I just mean its something anyone can do- it isn't that complicated, unless you start playing with genetics, AI, embryo transfer, GMOs or crap like that its really simple stuff. Its just ignorance of the work, and that isn't going to change.

Receiving credit for my intellect is worthless. I don't work for it, I just happen to be better than some at it, and have little else to worry about besides schoolwork. If I had been into sports or girls or anything that would have distracted me, it might be a completely different story. I went to a tiny school in the middle of nowhere in Texas. That really sounds good for education.

And yeah I like "trashy" girls. So what? At least they are interesting, and fun. The goody two shoes girls I'm around at college are so damn boring. Get a little shitty drama and some bad times in and I'll probably be happier. Its something different, something opposite of what I'm used. There was always a pretty thin line that kept me from being "trash", and I would have crossed it if my mom hadn't made sure it wasn't going to happen.

If we really could measure everything to it's smallest and largest limits, and we had the science to understand all the pieces, the only computer large enough to really lay out all of the cause-effect relationships of every single variable would be the universe itself and it could only move as fast as the universe itself unfolding. So science will always rely on models and knowledge will always be a pursuit rather than an obtainable prize.

I'd say you can figure out how everything ties together without needing to run the entire universe simulation, which is what you're talking about.

Now, you're correct that something bounded by our universe can't run something the size of our universe, but since the universe seems to be finite then theoretically in the future we could run a smaller version of our universe in a simulation. Which means we might be a simulation inside a larger universe that has the capacity to run it.
