Your longest living console

Mine will have to be my Sega Genesis.

I got it on my 8th birthday in 1991. That would be just short of 18 years and still working. I have several other genny's between then and now... but the first one still runs perfectly fine!

Same goes for my first SegaCD. Still rocking that as well, which I got in 93'.

Damn Sega made some quality hardware!

My NES. I got it for Christmas back in ........... I don't remember Must have been around 1990. I have had to swap out the 72-pin connector, but that's all. The old one still worked it just took about 20 minutes to get a game to work

The oldest thing I have that hasn't been repaired is my SNES. Got that for Christmas also, probably around '93. I wish I knew exactly when I got it ... I really should keep the receipts for these things.

I also had a Commodore 64 that my parents sold at a yard sale when I was away for the summer one year. I don't think I'll ever forgive 'em for that.

Genesis since the early 90s

last time I checked, my Sega Genesis, that we bought new back in the early 90's was still working. Its been in storage forever though, so that may have changed.

My Model 1 Genesis with the CD attachment is still going strong, and so is my Turbo Duo. I thought the Duo croaked a few months ago, but I recently discovered that rumors of its demise were greatly exaggerated. Must have been an issue with my audio-video switch. Piece of crap.

NES Christmas '87.

The only console I've ever gotten rid of was a tg-16 that I bought new for $40 when they were on closeout sometime in the mid-90s. I think my mom gave it to goodwill. At one point my family had an intellivision and 2600 but they were lost to the ages before I appreciated them.

Otherwise I have every nintendo console bought ~1 year after original release and a psx bought in '97 to play ff7.

None of us said it was our first console.

It was my 4th console. It was my 1st Sega console. The neighbor was lucky enough to have the SMS... so I got to play that there (leading to my desire for the genny).
