I've been in Seattle all my life and I like it alot. can't say it's great for jobs but noplace is right now.
I went to Evergreen St College in Olympia Wa and though it's a smallish town it's a collage town so it's real cool..or at least it was when I was there. I'd have conciderd staying if there was much work along my line.
So if I were to leave kansas...

Re: So if I were to leave kansas...
I skipped town about 2 1/2 years ago and it was the best think I ever did - I left Exeter, which was and is a great place, and where I have many good friends, as I was kindof depressed and felt stuck in the work I had fallen into after uni - so I left and moved back in with my parents for a couple of months until I found a government job with a 3 year training scheme (which didn't need any degree) and was able to move out to where I now live, which is close to the office. The town I live at now is utterly rubbish compared to Exeter, and full of dickheads, but I'm happier than I was then as I feel my life might be going somewhere - and this all came about becuase I wanted a change. So, I would suggest, get yourself a break and work out what YOU want - and pursue it. If you want to not apply yourself to anything ever, then get on the back of a train and drink moonshine, if not, work out what's right for you and do it

Oh no doubt. But there's a line I'll never be able to cross, and that's paying another human to get them to speak to me.

I don't know why, but that made me laugh!!!
I've always had a similar philosiphy about strippers when friends have asked me to go to a club.

How about paying a guy to speak to you and then prescribe you drugs? The second half has some merit.

I try not to rely on drugs to solve my problems. They're expensive, and they rarely have any effect on me much like caffeine fails to.
Re: So if I were to leave kansas...
When I was young many drugs backfired and didn't work properly on me, but as I age I find more and more that drugs actually start to do what they are intended to do. Unfortunately, for a select few drugs, the side effects also get stronger, alas.
I think depression can be handled without drugs, but it's hard. You have to get back to basics and get distractions out of your life. It's probably much easier to deal with depression in a natural or rural environment than in a city or urban environment.

Yeah I'm not going to Lawrence. There is basically no work there. I guess I'm still stuck here.
