I hate SF4 but f'n love KOFXIII.
Not sure which SF or KOF you guys are talking about, but yeah. I've given SF4 at least four chances (SF4, SSF4, SSF4AE and USF4) and disliked it every single time EXCEPT when I played the pre-release version in Japan November of last year during a loktest. The game was legitimately fun then. Naturally Capcom couldn't have that, so they 'fixed' it for the home release.

I laughed too hard at this...the7k wrote:I've given SF4 at least four chances (SF4, SSF4, SSF4AE and USF4)
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Well, I only paid for SF4, SSF4 and USF4. I didn't bother getting SSF4AE until PSN gave it away for free, and I only bought USF4 because I played it at the loktest and it was essentially a different game from what it is now.

I'm just laughing that there's so many versions.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Random gaming related thoughts?
Let me see......
Yeah so once again I'm tempted in getting myself one of those Retron 5 units.
I've held off for a variety of reasons. The latest issue is our terrible postal service and the fact that it would cost me a serious amount to go via courier.
Anyways, I've been somewhat off the gaming radar for some time now, so just asking what is the general consensus around these parts as to that system?

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Retron 5 ranks as one my best game-related purchases ever. The fact that I can patch & play legitimate Japanese carts still amazes me.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I don't plan to give SF4 another shot. Don't even plan to give SF5 a shot, because from the videos it looks exactly like SF4 with just a fresh coat of paint - they couldn't even bring themselves to think up a new mechanic to replace the Revenge Meter.
And yeah, I enjoy my Retron 5 as well. Haven't got into patching games yet (I need to get around to it now that I have Nadia on the Mega Drive - that game is practically a point and click and it's pretty much impossible to play without knowing the language) but I like that I can hook it up to my Elgato and stream/record gameplay without having to get tons of converters.

What's interesting is that Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on iOS still plays best if you use "the claw".
Older. Not wiser.
