By co-op, I mean, one controller, but all people in the room can feel involved by solving puzzles. Yes, point and click is more the idea...but I just want to make sure it isn't point and click hidden item, or survival point and click like Stargate 64.

Machinarium is fun and seems like a good family game.

So Co-Participation, not Co-Operation then.

Yes co-participation is a better term, thank you.

Machinarium is a good example, yes, and we do have it (on PSN).

You need the king of all Point and Clicks then:
Image
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

It is an pulp novel in the Indy universe, with an excellent talkie track, and stunning artwork. It is one of the best adventure games period. It is in my top three of games of all time. Just dont go the Fists path with the kids. Wits or Team path is all puzzles and yall will love it. And you can replay it atleast once with a different path and the game plays with a very different dynamic.

Not exactly matching your requirements, but Trine 2 is a puzzle platformer that supports up to 3 players. I played it with 2 other people and it was super fun.

Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons.

It's a single player, but you actually control two players at once. I've played this with another person and it works surprisingly well. It kinda reminds me of the old multiplayer games where you share a controller. It's a great game.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Hopefully others enjoy these types of games and will also benefit from the discussion.

I have "The Room" and it is EXACTLY the type of game we enjoy.

Every puzzle makes sense.
You aren't endlessly going back and forth from room A to room M - 20 clicks and slow loads away just to flick a switch, then walking back 20 screens. Literally everything is in one room.
There is actually an engaging story.
Pretty to look at. Like - gorgeous. The in-game sounds of drawers, dials, etc are just spot-on.
No slow loading of...anything.
If you get stuck, there are hints, that are not dead giveaways, but not completely abstract either - we've only used the hint system twice, and i'll say it is probably the best hint system we've ever seen. Some games just "hilight" what you should be looking for, some try to be tricky with the clue and it leaves you even more confused, etc. The hints we've used so far were subtle, but not misleading.
Controls are smooth - nothing worse than a puzzle you can figure out, but can't get the mouse to drag or turn the object the way it is supposed to be.

We've got 6 hours in (12 total, accidentally left it on when we went to dinner and a party) and so far we've been fully engaged and not frustrated or annoyed once. Truly, a great team game where everyone can chime in. I can't recommend this one enough.
