Re: telling a girl how much you love video games
Aside from that, my girlfriend just kind of picked up on it. I mention I'm modding a saturn, she asks what one is, I give her the brief history of sega. She wasn't as impressed as i thought she would be needless to say... but it brought it out on the table. I mean, if you find the right girl, play your cards right, and bring up video games later, I doubt anyone will really leave you just because you mention that you're most prized possession is a boxed copy of chrono trigger. They would probably just laugh at you because, well, that's silly (and it is, you know it's true). I mean, you don't really need to tell anyone upfront. Think about it
"hey there"
"hey, I'm Susie."
"I'm Billie, by the way, donkey kong country 2 is the best DK game ever."
"... okay"

Don't that just look oh so tasty?

Oh I fucking wish. The only boxed thing I have is ogre Battle 64 (never saw a use for a box as a youngin.. I shutter to think how much more valuable my worms Armageddon would be).equalsign wrote:A boxed copy of Chrono TriggerAwesomeMonstar wrote:I doubt anyone will really leave you just because you mention that you're most prized possession is a boxed copy of chrono trigger.!? Boxed as in sealed?! Although that's actually kinda how I am. Example from earlier today:
"Hey there, my name is Brent."
"Hi. I'm Michelle."
"So I just bought my third Dreamcast today."

Now ain't that the truth. That's probably one of the biggest conversation killer for me.
"Rocket wha... ship??"
"It's this community of retro gamers I hang with online."
"You have communities... wow dude... really, wow."

Yeah, I think my other hobbies are just as geeky. It's especially bad at work, where I talk about video games to bring the level of the coversation down a notch on the geek scale.
