What's the best Lemmings title?

I somehow ended up listening to Lemming's Mega Drive soundtrack and I wonder if there are some fans of the series in this board. What game do you think is the best? The first? The second? Hopefully not Revolution, I thought that one was incredibly bland.

I've always preferred the 1st one on PC with it's adlib soundtrack.

The first one is a timeless classic, but I think some of the new abilities in the 2nd one are well designed. I think they overdid it with all the different abilities so it is more hit and miss (whereas the first one was consistently well designed).

But overall I think the 2nd one is still the best one and you can always play the tribe that is like the original. It also has lots and lots of levels.

The PC version has an advantage of the Mouse, very useful for this icon driven game. There is a PS2 import of Lemmings DOS that can also be played with a mouse. I imagine the earlier PC Lemmings would play beautiful with the newer Touch Screen Tablet PCs.

The first game by far.

Works best on a computer - DOS, Amiga, or Mac.

I was randomly thinking about this series just the other day. This and Lost Vikings, just... nothing else out there like them.

I'm kind of partial to the SNES version since I grew up playing that a lot haha, but it's obviously better control wise and all on PC. And yeah, just talking about the first game and anything that used the same engine (?). Some of the sequels with all the new items and looks, I wasn't really a fan.

I agree that the series is best on a computer, I just came across the Mega Drive soundtrack. Which I might actually prefer to the original soundtrack, mind you. The port was done by Sunsoft so that's probably why. Here it is so you can listen to it:



Seems everyone agrees the first game is the best one, I might need to snatch it up (As there several PC versions? Any recommendations?) What about Oh, No! More Lemmings? Do you guys like that expansion?

Just to be clear, I prefer the 2nd one (Tribes).

Oh No more Lemmings is just an expansion, i.e. a bunch of extra levels, exactly same gameplay as the first if I recall.
