Who hates Apple?

I have a good reason why I have a mac. Mainly because I am a photographer and I do most of my photo editing on it, plus I don't play games on computers (nor I actually care), so I personally don't have a point on having a PC, mainly because thats all its really good for.

1993 Pentium 66mhz (custom built) no hdd, no OS
1995 Pentium MMX 233mhz (custom built) no hdd no OS (will be Windows soon)
1998 Pentium MMX 150mhz (IBM Thinkpad 380) Windows 98
2006 Celeron D 2400mhz (Dell Dimension B110) Windows XP

So no history outside Windows here. The only time I ever used a Mac was in the school library- they were OK. I'd get a Mac for their stabillity, but I won't pay Mac prices. Also, if the list above is any indicator, I don't need any more computers.

2009 Powerbook G4 17" (maxed out, probably the best computer ive used, fast, reliable, sexxy, and still can compete w/ many newer computers even after 3 years!!!)

i still own all the macs, and ibm's. Stil got the XPS 410 too, need to sell it.

Not to one up you, but those are the computers I currently own. The years are when they were built. And this list is just the ones I own, my family has had many more... Since our first computer, we've owned 21 computers. Thats an average of 1.6 computers per year.

thats more than enough. Though technological progression pretty much forces people to upgrade frequently if they want to run anything brand new.

That shitty Tandy back in the early 90's
A HP 100hmz with 16 megs of Ram... oh my baby. Win95 was crap though.
Then there was this shitty P3 we had for a long time. But I didn't use much.

Then I started owning my own PCs.

A Dell P4 2.0ghz in like 00' 01' - which got ripped apart and put into a custom case. I got bored of the mobo on it and upgraded it for overclocking and a faster AGP slot. Bad idea though because I replaced it soon after because I was using rambus memory.

So then I built my own P4 2.4Ghz Prescott in 03' or 04, whenever the Prescott came out... it went through several phases though with different amounts of RAM, additional HDDs, about 3 video cards, and had to replace the mobo. I ran that bugger for awhile.

The dell, the 2ghz and the 2.4 prescott shared a lot of parts and stuff around it. I break it into 3 computers, when actually you could possibly call it like 20 because they went through so many different outfits. Main reason was I bought small upgrades here and there, I didn't have a lot of money. So I just worked with what I had.

Then I built this bad boy I'm running now.
Intel E6700 Core2Duo at 2.67Ghz each. The Mobo fried out again on me, stupid Asus board (first time and last time I'll buy from them). I'm broke right now and put a cheapy intel board in there. Though I will admit the board is better then the Asus board in features. Except it has fewer PCIe slots and doesn't have a floppy port. But I get 4 more SATA ports, yey!

So what's that? 6 computers my entire life?

Really? I'm running Asus boards in both of my current machines (one even has an Asus video card), and have had no problems at all. Different strokes, different folks I guess.

Most people I know swear by Asus boards. If I were you I wouldn't let one bad experience turn you off to the brand entirely.
