Neo Geo is alright. I think the price of games + collector's market has inflated opinions some. There is a good deal of decent games, but so many fighters that just feel interchangeable.

I will agree with Apple though. 100% of the SuperGrafx library is quality.

The genres might be skewed but the quality stays consistent. I've never personally played a Neo Geo game that I thought outright sucked.

Neo geo library is so narrow though. Fighters and shmups with a few beatemups and platformers mixed in.

It may be limited, the fighters many may be interchangeable, but it doesn't change the argument it's hard to find a really bad game on there. But it is also safe to say that they probably QC'd stuff to a lot higher degree since it was an arcade system primary with a home counterpart so they needed to qualify them to nitpicky quarter droppers and deep pocketed types who bought the home carts for hundreds of dollars.

...and yes all 6 supergrafx games were solid.

Neo Geo also had puzzle and sports games. And that is more variety than the SuperGrafx with its two whole genres of platforming and shooting.
