Oh man, the DavidG legacy continues!
Burn that quick, and yes how the hell can the MVS cart set like that.

Edit: I think I can see how it works in my head now, the MVS cart sets on the system right?

Well, I guess i'm not sure...since he put a note on it I assumed it was an apology-gift, maybe they all came with sdtrk.

4 seasonal: Spring, April 1st, Summer, July 19, Autumn, Sept. 26, Winter, Dec. 25
12 zodiac: These are acquired during the period of each zodiac sign over the course of the year.
3 randoms: Oriental, Delta, and Ordovician. These will randomly appear but are the most common you will find.

Also, I beat Puzzle Bobble Mini over the weekend.
Thanks for finding that out. I've noted that down to use in future. You should submit it to gamefaqs too.
Yeah, I think I'll do a small guide for them there. I've noticed while looking around for info that they don't have a lot for the NGPC outside of the bigger names.
There is definitely a shortage of info for many of the NGPC games. Gamefaqs has a lot of partially abandoned or incomplete FAQs.

I've just started playing Pocket Tennis after beating Dark Arms over Halloween. So far I have acquired the Oriental, Delta and Ordovician cups as well as winning the Scorpius cup twice.

I've unlocked 2 secret characters...but I've read that there aren't anymore to unlock. As the game is relatively easier and doesn't have much strategy to it I'll probably play it now and then over the year, unlocking the cups seasonally.

Any idea if there is anything more to be unlocked through multi-player as I have two carts for this game?

No, as far as I could tell, that was really it. There are only the two known secret characters and the trophies, all of which can be found in single player. To my knowledge, there is nothing to unlock via multiplayer.

Thanks anyway for your detailed investigations about this game. The gameplay is fairly shallow, but it has a nice charm and I'll keep playing it off and on.

Now onto a new subject that's still NGPC related. Can anybody tell me exactly what this is?

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=201 ... d4c23eb5b0

It appears to be a (I presume) frontlit Neo Geo Pocket (not Color) but I can't be entirely sure if the seller is selling the system or offering to mod a system.

I've only just started probing about on Taobao so if anyone can tell me what exactly this is I'd be keen to hear. Wouldn't mind picking it up if it is what it seems to be.

Another thing I've been curious about for a while now is this:

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthrea ... trangeness

I always thought there was something wrong with my copy of Puzzle Bobble Mini and now I've had it confirmed here.

A question then for NA gamers: does Bust a Move Pocket (same game different name) also have this irritating bug?

Looking into this further it seems that a large number of the UK Puzzle Bobble carts have this fault and according to one post on google groups SNK were sending out replacement carts at one point.

Saw this appear on a reasonably priced BIN on ebay the other day so snapped it up:

Magical Drop Pocket PAL version complete. I've never seen this anywhere since I got back into the NGPC so I'm guessing it's become one of the rarer UK games.

Won't be able to collect it till January due to my location but good to add another boxed game to my collection.

Outside of the gambling games I only have five more UK releases to collect now:

Cool Borders Pocket
Dive Alert – Becky
Evolution – Eternal Dungeons
Puyo Pop
Shanghai Mini

Puyo Pop is fairly common. I should be able to find a cheapish cart only copy of Becky.

The other three might involve both luck and/or breaking the bank.

3rd and final AES pre-order arrived today (had signature confirmation...any still managed to get left on my porch...a topic for another day...)

From the creator of the neobitz comes his first release:

Knight's Chance - AES

I'm still missing Gunlord which is a high want. Fast Striker, Razion and Bang 2 Busters are games I likely won't get unless i'm able to trade for them or if there are reprints.

Here's my current set:

This showed up too:
