I prefer using GOG more and more, especially for old school stuff. They tend to offer much better support for older games, and if Galaxy works, I'll have almost no reason to do any old school stuff on Steam.

Dark Forces multiplayer on Steam would be impossible. Since Dark Forces did not have multiplayer... Even if it did, it would have to be via a tunneling software like Hamachi or Gameranger.

what's worrying me is I don't understand how cross platform will work. Meaning, if I already had Dark Forces on Steam and you guys bought it on GOG - would we be able to play together, or would I then need to buy the GOG version?

Xwing/Tiefighter have both the original Dos and the newer Windows releases
Fate is the talkie
Monkey Island has both the original and the special edition - which means you can turn it into a talkie via this http://www.gratissaugen.de/ultimatetalkies/monkey1.html.
I am incredibly happy to see this happening. Now, if they could somehow break the mystical seal of releasing X-Wing Alliance, I could be a happy man. Seriously... the only way to get that game running is to just emulate windows 98.

Its been playable for a while. From the GOG Forums:
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/how_to ... w_machines

Now I could never get multiplayer to work that way.

If Nintendo is willing to make something like Hyrule Warriors, then I'm still holding out hope that they someday make a "Link vs. Chickens" vertical shmup

I'm torn on whether to install the DOS version or the Windows version. My understanding is Windows looks better but doesn't have the iMuse system.
