There's one jump I can think of that you could classify as impossible, but it's really because you're not supposed to jump it; just run over a one block square like in Mario.

I though it was the DOS version...

Yeah, the PC speaker was utter shit as a sound device. There's a reason you see very minimalist sound design on pre-SoundBlaster DOS games.

I own ZERO FPS games for the PS2. Not sure why I find that fact to be odd, but I do.

Come to think of it, I bet less than 4% of my game collection consists of FPSs.

I've heard great things about Timesplitters.

so GTA5 is finally coming to PC in January, and I have to say I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. I'm not a hardcore fan of the series, and have only played a handful of entries. But I think what I find so interesting about 5 is just how vast and open it all is. It seems like the sort of game I might want to just fire up and not play the story, but instead just explore. Which is totally the opposite of how I play most games.

Also a lot of rumored stuff is interesting to me. I've heard that the PC version will have an option for first-player mode for instance. And some of the recent mods made for GTA4 would allude to some even more mind-blowing mods for 5 in the future.

Its OK. The multi-player is a lot of fun. The PS2 isn't great for FPS games - most of them are better on the Xbox - but there are some good console exclusives, such as:

Half-Life (also available on the DC...kind of)
No One Lives Forever
Quake III: Revolution (also available on the DC)
Red Faction
Serious Sam: Next Encounter (also available on the GC)
Tribes: Aerial Assault
Unreal Tournament (also available on the DC)

I am certain that all of these are better on the PC, but if (like me) you prefer consoles, the PS2 is the best way to play some of these games.

Half Life is a different game though. It is a side story featuring what happens to the other two scientist with HEV suits.

NOLF, Q3, UT, and Red Faction are all better on the PC. Tribes Aerial is a very unique consoley version of the series, while Serious Sam Next is a PS2/GC exclusive and a whole boatload of fun.
