Must have a wire crossed. I inexplicably keep thinking you have to use the rope to get to the mecha turtle. Looks like I'll have to give it another play sometime next week.

Ha! No way duder, but I do think about grabbing my Father's PS/1 to replay games like Silpheed, Golden Axe, Willy Beamish, Mean Streets, etc.

Maybe I should shut up about loading times. I won't, but maybe I should. Installing games would sometime take hours.

Can't tell if serious... There's been a couple of us lauding it in the WiiU thread.

It's amazing. Just gorgeous. I'm playing it on Second Climax and actually kinda wanna drop down to First Climax just so I can basically buttonmash and watch it be pretty. The combat flows nicely, there's a decent amount of secrets/replayability, plenty of stuff to collectathon... it's well worth the consistent 9+'s that it's getting (Polygon notwithstanding)
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

Best game on the wii and possibly the best action game to date. It's made my top 10 of all time. That says a lot considering I've been playing games since 1979.

Have you played similar games? I still want to know how it is as a genre game...Bayonetta 1 was a let down I thought...

I have played all DMC games, and loved Bayonetta. What of Bayonetta did you not like is the question that needs to be asked. The DMC games never grabbed me for some reason, the only one I beat was part 2 and that was only cause it can be best in like 3 hours. That game sucked by the way, LOL.

Far too easy, systems and combat too simple, AI too repetitive/predictable.

DMC3 and DMC1 are still, for my money, by far the best games in the "stylized hack and slash" subgenre. I had hoped Bayonetta would continue that legacy, but it has not really done so. I thought DMC2 and DMC 4 were both pretty poor, but not much worse than Bayonetta. I thought the DMC reboot was far better than Bayonetta.

If you felt Bayonetta was too easy I would recommend starting on the hardest difficulty then. The combo system is pretty versatile in the second one allowing two sets of weapons at one time, (Hands/feet x2). Battle flow is pretty smooth and I never feel I got cheated at any point unlike the first release of US DMC 3. I'm currently playing on 3rd Climax and having to really stay on my toes with the combat. I also think the fan service in Bayonetta also lets me look at it through rose tinted glasses, (There are a TON of Sega franchise references). I say at least find someone that owns it or rent the game to at least try out, I for one plan on going through all difficulties and 100% this one as I did with the first one. But you're certainly not the first person I've heard that didn't care for Bayonetta.

So I totally missed that call. There has to be an impossible jump in the NES version, right?
