Dear God I hope you have never met chili from Cincinnati (not the stripper).

This "chili" is thicker than yogurt.

People treat the place like a Godsend. Always packed, always the same product. You tube "Bill's hot dogs Washington NC" and you will probably be shocked. People flood this place.
But that doesnt answer my question. Chili, by definition, has to have chili peppers in it.

Funny story about chili. I make a soso chili, but last year we had a chili cook off at work. One of the prizes was hottest. Knowing that one of the other reps was going to use brisket in his chili, I opted to go for hottest. So I made McCormick American Chili, and added a couple drops of 1 million scoville hotsauce. I won hottest by a long shot.

Or it looks like a sliced chicken breast. But use your imagination.

Threw together a little Fall themed dinner last night:

Fall Focaccia

2.5 cups bread flour
1 cup water
1 packet rapid rise yeast
3 TBSP olive oil
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
dash cinnamon
molasses

-blend 1.5 cups flour with spices and yeast. Add water, oil, and 1 more cup of flour. Let sit, rise, cook at 400 for twenty minutes. Drizzle molasses over loaf after cooked.

Acorn Squash Soup

This tastes like Fall in a bowl.

Halve and seed a large acorn squash, toss it in a crock pot, along with two large carrots, for two to three hours. When tender, remove the squash's skin. Place the squash and carrots in a blender and blend away. Add close to a quart of chicken or vegetable stock, and about a half cup of heavy cream or a cup of half and half. Puree the mixture until it coats the back of a spoon.

Add mixture to a pot, place back on medium heat until your house smells like a cover of Southern Living looks like.

As with any soup, you can use any squash you'd like, but acorn squash has a very Earthy and meaty flavor to it. Plus the color it brings to the soup is simply radiant. And if you aren't a fan of baking your own bread, this soup pairs perfectly with a whole grain bread or dark pumpernickel. The orange soup and dark brown bread will immediately remind you of Fall. Put on a sweater, sit outside and enjoy the cool weather. The soup will keep you warm.

I have a somewhat unhealthy cereal eating habit. I don't even consume it in the morning, but rather late at night. It's too damn delicious. I'll down like 3 solid cups of cereal. Though Honeycomb is indeed amazing, I get down on some of this Kashi Toasted Berry Crumble mixed with a small bit of cheerios. I don't carry Honeycomb or cinnamon toast crunch in my apartment, strictly due to the fact that it'd all be gone in probably two days.

Also, I've been buying store bought crumpets from Kroger and I've got to say, they're amazing. Basically a cut in half, healthier english muffin, that freezes well, and goes so well with any spread you want to put on it.

Yeah I think I had at least 4 bowls of that stuff(maybe more because I think I had 3 last night, and like 2 or 3 this morning...that stuff is delicious dry...probably wouldn't be gone so quick if I put milk in it...). Though the cereal last night was preceded by a slice of leftover pizza from our judgement house production...(there's a pizza joint right outside the church in a nearby shopping center that makes some real darn good pizza that tastes doesn't taste as good as it does warm so I have to reheat it...)

I ate biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I never heard of this meal before I moved to WV. Now I know that it's the official breakfast of hillbillies, yokels, and rednecks. Still good though. In Georgia, this is called a gravy biscuit.

It really is, but I certainly treat myself to a gravy biscuit a few times a year.

On the morning on my bachelor party, a friend bought and brought me a gravy biscuit and a six pack of Miller Lite. Now that's a redneck breakfast.
