I haven't played the original LoZ, but if you are for open ended gameplay, it doesn't get better than Link's Awakening. Though Link Between Worlds is also very good. Do you own a 3DS?SNESdrunk wrote: All of my birthday/Christmas gifts/money went to Super NES games, Game Boy was just kind of an afterthought. My mistake obviously, and I'm making up for lost time now. I think Link's Awakening is the 2nd best game in the entire series after LoZ.

Yeah Link Between Worlds was stunningly good, I like it better than Link to the Past. That might be #3, although I admit I there's a lot I haven't played (Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, Skyward Sword)ZeroAX wrote:I haven't played the original LoZ, but if you are for open ended gameplay, it doesn't get better than Link's Awakening. Re: SNESdrunk reviews
Of those, I only had Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening...but I had a couple of the Game Boy Mega Man games, Final Fantasy Adventure, Tetris, and the Game Boy port of Batman: Return of the Joker. And you know what? I was perfectly happy!ZeroAX wrote:I feel sorry for the kid who grew up owning a gameboy and never experiencing the awesomeness of Super Mario Land 2, Wario Land 1&2, Zelda Link's Awakening and Kirby's Dream Land 2.
Re: SNESdrunk reviews
Funny thing is when I was little i wanted those games so bad(and heck I knew a few gamestops that had them but never did remember to ask for those when we went)...at least I really wanted the super mario land, wario land, and link's awakening...never really knew about kirby until the n64 games and didn't even know there was gameboy games until the advance titlesZeroAX wrote:I feel sorry for the kid who grew up owning a gameboy and never experiencing the awesomeness of Super Mario Land 2, Wario Land 1&2, Zelda Link's Awakening and Kirby's Dream Land 2
Also seriously, you should check out the first 2 Wario Land titles and Kirby's Dream Land 2

Re: SNESdrunk reviews
You should really play Kirby's Dream Land 2 if you ever liked any single Kirby game. It's the best Kirby game imo, getting the perfect balance between animal helpers and powers (this and Kirby's Adventure, though that one didn't have animal helpers, so this game is slightly better because of that imo).
Don't worry, the point of retro gaming is making up for all that childhood trauma where your parents wouldn't send half their wage on all the games you wanted
