Played through some seasonal arcade games yesterday, so putting them up.
I need to dive back into Alien Isolation, but for some reason keep feeling compelled to play almost anything else. I think the game's slow start (and lack of Alien) hasn't done much to compel me to keep at it...in any case, I'd like to pop that up here before the month is out.

Re: Games Beaten 2014
I'm having a really different experience. I've fired it up twice now, and like you I haven't seen the alien yet. And yet I'm getting really stressed out. The buildup. The feeling that he's going to pop out any time now is getting me stressed out. It's kind of funny, I was really looking forward to a new Alien game, but once I started it I remembered that being defenseless and trying to hide from something that's hunting me isn't something that I generally consider fun, haha. I definitely plan to play it more, but I gotta put myself in the right mindset. I think it's also turned me off a bit when I realize how long the game is - I guess the idea of being anxious for 20 hrs isn't appealing to me right now.dsheinem wrote: I need to dive back into Alien Isolation, but for some reason keep feeling compelled to play almost anything else. Re: Games Beaten 2014
I have noticed these two differing reactions are really part of the divisive nature of the game. Watching Red Letter Media's review of the game definitely was in the position of DSH, where they were bored to tears and when the alien is introduced, they found it predictable and mundane. Other people see it as exactly the opposite. It really does boil down to what mindset you put yourself into.noiseredux wrote:I'm having a really different experience. I'll get to join on the Alien Isolation fun today or tomorrow. Whenever that package shows up.
I'll just let you guys know I did spoil myself and watched the Giant Bomb Quick Look where you first get introduced to the alien and I'll have you know you're in for a treat. The AI seems hella intelligent too. Just remember that he does have a set of ears on him.
