Re: Games Beaten 2014
VR Troopers for Game Gear, on the easiest setting, with the time set to 15 seconds and the graphics set from normal to giant, like so.
Also tried the Genesis version which looks nicer.
They both have the same general plot but with some minor differences. They both revolve around a new arcade game that ends up delivered to Tao's Dojo and the troopers use their powers on the game and get sucked in. But:
* In the Genesis version, Tao doesn't remember ordering the game and goes to straighten it out, whereas in the Game Gear version, he refers to the game as being very hard and leaves the troopers to play it.
* In the Genesis version, we see that the game has a name and lists it as being made by Ziktor Industries.
* In the Genesis version the troopers sense something's off and transform into the VR Troopers and get sucked in and battle Grimlord's forces, but in the Game Gear version they simply play the game and then sneak in at night and use their powers to beat the game
Also the Genesis version supports the 6-button pad, with the X, Y and Z buttons used to use the chosen trooper's powers, and the A, B, and C buttons used for punch, kick and throw (depending on your preferred setting), while the Game Gear just has a punch and kick.
Also the Game Gear has it to where you can win with best of either 3 or 5 (I chose 3), but the Genesis version also has a Sudden Death option.
But ultimately I feel as though it would have been better if it was made by Bandai like the Power Ranger games.

Autechre or you're doing it wrong.Kidpanda wrote:I'd be curious as to try some levels made from tracks by Squarepusher, the Flashbulb or a few tracks off of AT: RDJ Album. Those tracks are pretty busy most times. Bogdan Racynzski might be out of control too.

A great irony is Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD is amazing, they released the "Revert DLC" and broke the game haha.TSTR wrote: Although, I will say that while the addition of the manual in THPS2 was much needed and greatly benefited the game, the addition of the revert in THPS3 just kinda broke things and made it ridiculous.

First 100:
101. Vay (Sega CD)
Working Designs is celebrated among many retro gamers, but they did localize a few duds in their time. Cosmic Fantasy 2 is one such dud. Vay is another.
Simply put, Vay is a tedious and dreadfully repetitive game with wildly inconsistent difficulty. The plot and characters are as exciting as a bag of rocks. I don't even feel compelled to write much about the game, because even that bores me.
Try to imagine a JRPG that's as challenging and grindy as Phantasy Star II - but then remove all of the fascinating planetary realms and space commandos and anime graphics and amazing soundtrack and anything else that would compel the player to continue playing what would otherwise be a complete slog. You're left with Vay. It feels like a blueprint moreso than a finished game.
The high point of Vay comes when a character is asked where he came from and his response is "My mother."
Unless you feel compelled to finish every Working Designs RPG and/or every Sega CD RPG I would avoid this one at all costs.
