True. But with the exception of The Witcher 3 and Wasteland 2 there aren't that many "current gen" PC games I want to play. Still working on a massive Vista/7-era backlog + all the classic DOS stuff. Someday I will upgrade though.

can you tell us the specs of your current build? I mean... might be an easier/cheaper upgrade than you realize to get you playing more modern games if you wanted the option.

Man, the new consoles might be pretty bad value for the money performance wise and certainly if you care about graphics at all you shouldn't buy any console, however, I'm looking at the library of PS3 games, and the fact that they're still coming out and it's really hard to argue with the fact that you could buy the system for $500 and then have it last for about 8 years, even if the experience is sub par to what you could have elsewhere. The last generation might actually be better than the PS2's in terms of the sheer number of quality games available.

I don't think this current crop of consoles will be anywhere close to having the same lasting value. Perhaps that's actually a good thing.

Pix the Cat is a ton of fun btw. Pick that up if you're a PSPlus subscriber with a Vita or PS4.

My PC isn't up to snuff.

For me it's simply the fact that I'd still get more bang for my buck by buying retro games. For $500 I could buy an Xbone and then hope and pray some games are eventually released, or I could instead take that money and purchase a shit ton of retro games from my wishlist.

But at some point you'll own every Ys game and that $500 won't be used anymore.

I feel like that's more true now than it was in 2006.

I know for a fact that many of the games I like to play these days would not run on my 8600GTOC which was pretty decent back when it was released, but many have 360 and PS3 releases. Of course, one could attribute that to the inherent efficiency of console hardware and inefficiency of most PC ports.

In any case, for better or worse I'm not quite as fervent about PC superiority as I was even a few months ago now. Even if it still is incredibly superior. I'm too busy to care now.

My 2007 built pc with a 9600 GT still plays many new games at 1360x760. Borderlands Presequel runs smooth. Granted I dont try to play ARMA3 on it, so theres that.

Not bad.

Of course, in practice, I think the 9600GT is nearly twice as fast as the 8600GT.

Man is inFamous glitchy as all get out(even for being the hd remake) and I would've thought they'd do a better job on animating these 3d models when they talk too ...ah well still fun for my first time playing this

Well might as well consider it that to some extent since it's one of those collections that sony is big on doing now a days (and oddly it seems like mostly they're the only ones doing them)

But putting two or more same-gen games in a bundle doesn't make them a remaster (HD or otherwise).
