Well, i'm of course storing it face down so WHEN it dies, IF it leaks, there won't be any damage and then i'll just bring her to life.

I'd like to document officially how long one of these can truly last. Not to say that people shouldn't change them after 5 years, but rather to show you should easily be able to wait toward the higher end of the 5 year range as opposed to the currently recommended 3-5. I think 5-7 is much more realistic. Honestly, if something is going to die at 3.5 years - that is a bad battery and has just as much chance at dying at 2 years...or 6 months.

So...my wife is out of town, and I am "working from home" and "watching the children"...

I am most excited about the Impossible Mission II variant, but the $1 Atari games aren't too bad either.

They came in yesterday (and I just left you feedback)! :) (I never brag about the great deals I get on the forums, but if I did, I assure you that I would have posted about those games!)

Hehe I was just messin with you man, I know you know far better than me (and most) the proper way to take care of things, I just thought it was a hilarious time coincidence.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

Picked up an Atari 7800. Had to pay overall 26.00 for the paddle, 6 games, ac adapter, fr switch. System was given to me because didn't know if it worked or not but it works fine now after cleaning it.
Games are,
Xevious
Joust
Millipede 2600,
Space invaders 2600
Food fight
Pole position 2
My only concern is that the controller is very hard to move left to right like pole position or joust or any other game. Is that normal or should I return it to get another

As in physically hard, or it's iffy about responding? 7800 sticks are stiff in general, though they use metal domes for contacts. If some dirt or corrosion has gotten in there is could make good contact a problem. It can be fixed though as long as the dome isn't bent and damaged.

Hobie,
Its just really hard to turn right or move the guy right. Left and up and down are OK but I have to force moving right
