This! I've had enough crappy Madcatz controllers break on me over the years that I will never touch one their products again. They made some of the worst third party stuff that I've ever used so there's no way I would drop R.A.T.money on one of their products.

I will say that the mouses are pretty comfy, my old roommate has one and it felt great in your hand. Just not something I would want to take the chance on.

Yea I meant to mention that their sticks are pretty nice but it really isn't that hard to do since they are just using parts from respected button and stick manufacturers. Can you imagine what they would be like if they didn't and made their own parts?

That mouse looks uncomfortable because it's in it's compacted size. The mouse is fully adjustable and has a weight system. You can make it fit your hand very precisely. It uses BlueTooth 4 (claimed 1ms response time) and is rechargeable.

Pretty much every outlet and independent review I've found of this claims it is excellent. There are also 7 and 8 versions that are significantly cheaper and lose out on some laser resolution, weighting, and rechargability. Apparently the battery leaves something to be desired. But that's always up to how the thing is used.

I've also had enough Logitech products to get tired of their BS. So, I'm willing to make a radical leap.

In any case, tracking isn't an issue with my mouse and other laser mice I've used (though I've never used an optic mouse that had even halfway decent tracking). It really comes down to compatibility with how I use the thing.
Interesting. I'm guessing you don't use a mousepad then? Optical mice (with good sensors) have the most accurate tracking at the moment provided they are used on a good surface. Laser mice will work on almost anything, and I am sure a good amount of people don't even notice the tracking issues that come with a lot of laser sensors. Fair trade off.

Logitech is a good brand. Not using any of their mice currently, but I think they usually deliver a nice product. G502 has the best sensor on the market. No other mouse has that sensor at the moment. But I admittedly HATE the scroll wheel on it.

Hopefully you like it if you get it. If your desire is wireless and laser then I certainly have no alternatives to consider as I haven't looked too much at wireless. :)

I have a laser/optical mouse surface. (It claims it's built for up to 16800 dpi tracking)

It's not that I think Logitech makes poor products. I'm just tired of the markup for something that isn't actually better.

They're only substantially better in very specific cases.

(Better tracking than anything else on the market? Based on what?)

So, I never actually said I was buying a MadCatz RAT 9. Though, I am interested. Not everything I've seen has been positive.

I just don't like the mouse I currently have very much. It has general issues, and they're recurring issues with Logitech mice for me.

If you're talking DPI, I honestly couldn't care less. A lot of mice get that number by using lens' and not better sensors or cameras, and it doesn't necessarily improve tracking when doing it that way.

Then there's the whole issue of, I don't really need that much distance coverage. Not yet anyway.

People do actual tests on these mice/sensors to to measure acceleration/deceleration, jitter, smoothing, angle snapping, lift off distance, etc. Seems to be mainly FPS players. If you aren't hardcore into FPS you are probably less likely to notice some of these issues.

Please note that I am not saying you should definitely buy an optical mouse. Since FFXIV, an MMO, is one of the main games I play I don't even use an optical mouse most of the time. No one makes an optical 'MMO mouse'.

That MadCatz mouse appears to use a PLN2033. Worth looking into the positives and negatives of that. But please be aware that some people's opinions are a bit harsh. Sometimes people just seem to hate everything that isn't optical. A little too hardcore for me.

GTX 970? I haven't used one, but it certainly looks like a great deal. Reviewers have been very positive. Much better bang for the buck than the 980 I got.

Exactly what I wanted to see.
I figured people tested them, I just wasn't able to find any when I looked.

Most people form some kind of technique and barely moving the mouse plays into that. Personally, I don't care that much about tournament FPS level of control, it would be wasted on me anyway.

People can only be so jealous.

I'd be interested in hearing some real-world performance info if you have any from your experiences. Also screens.
