The view is different, more like a behind-the-table thing, the graphics aren't bad, it uses a pop-up dot matrix display which means a few more modern touches and diferent play/score modes are available. Has anyone built a pinball cabinet? They do not look that difficult, especially since you can have the glass sit on top, under the lock bar.
I am debating on adding one to my winter project list, well two actually. A normal table (27,32, or 42 inches depending on the monitor I can get), and one for console pinball games that are hard 4:3 - Pinball on the NES, aka my favorite table after Twilight Zone and Arabian Nights.

Yeah - and with display outer dimensions varying so widely I would think every cab would be a custom job. They are pretty cool when all put together. A member of the DFW Pinball Club made one with a Zizzle Pirates of the Carribean (the small home-use pin) cabinet. I have to buy a 27inch tv for another project, if it lives through that, I think I am going to pair it with a monitor I have and see what works. I do not know if it works with Pinball Arcade though, I cant seem to find an answer about that.

Set a 22inch widescreen monitor I had flat to test a pinball arcade cabinet setup. Fired up Theater of Magic so I could look at it from all angles and just see how it is going to look. Then played for a solid 40 minutes and almost broke a billion points. Best game on that table I have ever had, and I doubt I will beat it anytime soon. I just got in the zone and kept getting the trunk and trapdoor bonuses. I still cant get the tiger saw to activate on purpose though.

I haven't jumped in on any of the Season 3 tables yet. I completely get why they are $5 a pop but I'm hoping they run a 50% off sale at some point. Dracula and the Adams Family are one's I'd be eventually interested but the others out now I'm not in a rush for.
