The only things that brought around Japanese gamers on 360 was Shmups and the occasional other exclusive, but since Cave is out of the console business, I don't see it gaining traction there.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... reed-Unity (I know they deny it, but Ubi has pulled off this crap before with PC versions of their games being patched to downgrade them on ATI cards since they had a partnership with nVidia)

I think someone's in a great deal of denial about why their console sucks and what they SHOULD be doing to win back customers.

You lost me right there...

The Xbox One far from "sucks" any more than the PS4 does. Although both are selling well, neither console is exactly setting the world on fire with revolutionary advances in gaming. If we didn't see a 1080p vs 900p article every few days, I doubt many people would notice the difference. Unless a particular version is broken I usually grab whatever version I feel like. You need look no further graphically than Ryse to see 900p can look pretty damn good. I haven't seen a better looking next-gen game yet.

I have both consoles and picked up Diablo 3 and Shadow of Mordor on the XB1 and haven't once felt like I was getting an inferior experience.

oh don't misunderstand, I find the PS4 just as boring right now, but the amount of anti consumer and anti indie shit that MS has pulled has forever stained the xbone in my eyes. And this "on parity" thing is just pissing off developers who might never come back on their platforms (just see how quickly all 3rd party developers jumped ship from nintendo in the 90s)

Honestly, I think Microsoft started out this generation as the more "consumer friendly" console, they just have crappy communications and marketing skills and Sony was able to take advantage of that and come out smelling of roses. Their idea that all physical copies became digital copies sounded fantastic to me. That would have allowed me to take advantage of the 20% off I get at Best Buy and still have a digital copy of a game (which I prefer). As it stands now, it's really hard to make the digital choice.

I would've loved to be able to sell digital licenses... I wish they kept that.

Yep. I would own a Xbox One right now if they stuck with their plan. But now it's just a weaker PS4. They're not even doing much with Kinect. I am sure I will still get one eventually. Waiting on exclusives that interest me.

I am debating which recent exclusive (if any of them) I may want to use some of my ~$60 XBLA credit for:

Sunset Overdrive
Fantasia
Forza Horizon 2

Part of me thinks that Forza will be $30 @ retail by Xmas, Fantasia will cost the same soon after, and Sunset Overdrive...will be very dependent on good review scores to sell well and stay close to the MSRP for any length of time.

I don't plan to buy the Halo collection

What other exclusives are coming out in the next few weeks/months that I may want to consider? For cross-platform stuff I really intend to stick exclusively with PC or PS4, so I am ruling those out unless there's a compelling argument that the X1 version is on par or better than either...
