Since I'm the only one who loves you I'll answer the question.

The After Years is worth playing, in my estimation. It's interesting to see how the characters have grown since FFIV, and you end up with a bunch of party combinations that you might not have had otherwise.

However, once you complete all the individual scenarios you have a very long dungeon crawl ahead of you, which includes fighting basically every Final Fantasy boss from I through VI; basically think of it like doing all the bonus dungeons in FFI Dawn of Souls back to back to back. If that doesn't appeal to you then you might want to hold off, as a few of the mysteries that drive the individual storyline plots are not resolved until the end of that dungeon crawl.

As for the Interlude, it's pretty meh. It's short, so might as well, and it does explain a minor plot point in The After Years. But don't expect anything too awesome.

Sounds good! I'll get to it when I can. Still gotta finish III on the DS first.

I honestly really tried, but I couldn't get into The After Years. The whole separate stories thing killed it for me and has never been something I enjoy much in RPG's. I hear it gets great once everyone is together, but it sure seems like it takes awhile to get there. I remember it was just really boring half the time too and I had auto battle on most of the time.

IV is conclusive enough to me, especially compared to half the other games in the series. So yeah, just seems kind of fanfictiony from there.

Interlude was... yeah, I can't remember one thing about it.

Just watched the latest Final Fantasy XV trailer. Cautiously optimistic but the trailer does kind of make it look like a Japanese boy band got lost in GTA V.

I guess SquareEnix have thrown in the towel and gone full Monster Hunter? Fair enough to me.

 . Sorry mate, really not a fan of the chibi designs. It's what is turning me off from Bravely Default too.

Probably they think there is too small an install base to be worth the cost of publishing those games again.

Seems so, the problem is I don't enjoy Monster Hunter :/. And even Xenoblade seems to be going down that path....no console JRPGs for me....oh wait, there's always the PS3 :P

I literally feel embarrassed while watching the Final Fantasy XV trailer. Like, I don't anyone to catch me watching it.

Yay! I'm not the only one! Don't know why but chibi designs unless it's in a 2d game(which is what it feels like they did with bravely, which basically looks like they started in 2d and went 3d....I just can't bring myself to play things with chibi graphics like that.....
