Anyone try windows 7 yet?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I just used IE and it worked. I'll install it when I get my other PC cleared off.

Can I install this without losing all my data on my HD right now? I have tons of music, movies, and games installed and don't want to lose them to try windows 7. I have no means of backing up either

I wouldn't risk it. Not if your data is important.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

There's already been reported cases of 7 corrupting people's MP3s, and a subsequent patch has been released for it. That should give you a taste of the risks you will be taking. If I install it on my main PC at all, it will be on an external hard drive, with all my internet drives disabled and untouchable.

They weren't there when we had the problem...

Thanks for the links anyway.

So far it's good. I have issues as expected. The benchmark tool froze up. On first run, it connected to my wireless router just fine, but ever since I restarted, it fails to connect.

Does anyone know how to even get a key for it? You cant really report issues without one but they didnt hand any out. Whats the fucking point of the beta then?
who needs a key? I cracked that shit within 5 mins of running it for the first time. ;)
1) You impress no one.
2) Maybe I shouldn't have to crack a fucking free-to-use beta.

download this shit

turn off UAC first before you run it

UPDATED:Removes Watermark, Send feedback, and choice of installing or uninstalling TimerNuke!!!
Just FYI, that doesn't match the beta's current build number.
yeh i dont really have anything good to say except that that ^^ is fucking ownd!!! =D

The problem with that advice is that the "quit it" portion of the process becomes much more complicated after the "hit it" maneuver has been completed. Much easier to "quit it" before all else.

So what does everyone think? I'm testing it out currently. And so far, I'm impressed. It seems slightly different from Vista. But it does seem to run a little faster. Size wise, it's still a beast clocking in at 7+ GB.

Does anyone think the Live services will take off? One big change in 7 is that the whole Windows Live set of tool are a separate downloadable package now. I have no interest in any of them, but I will be trying them out just so I can decide if they are functional for casual users. Live is basically Microsoft's aim at cloud computing right?

Use virtualbox. The fun effects that use a videocard won't work, but besides that it runs quite nicely.
