Try Wii Golden Eye, the "lightgun" approach does have to be learned to get the spin adjusted correctly. Even on FPS games that offer a choice of Classic or Wiimote, I love the instant aim shooting with the Wiimote. No plastic gun housing to delay the trigger action either, the Wiimote with Nunchuck just fine.

I do not like the Wii Gyros used for shake detection, but dead accurate Infra Sensor is beautiful. Think of that sensor as the same tight control of the mouse, quick and stop the aim on a dime. Harder to do that with an analog stick.

I imagine the Move might be the better option on PS3 FPS games. Not sure about the Kinect, have to have some sort of controller in my hand.

MrPopo wrote:Important tidbits from PAX (too lazy to make a thread of my own):

1. Bloodborne is awesome. They've really tightened up things to focus on the combat and they seem to be trying to keep things more fluid and active. The health mechanic seems to be that some (might be based on type) of the damage you take is only somewhat taken off, like in MvC. If you can kill the enemy that inflicted that damage quickly enough you get that health back, otherwise it converts to full damage.

2. Smash is Smash. Why do people demoing a new fighter stick to the characters they already know rather than trying the new ones?

3. Gauntlet is good times. They've removed the "everyone has a ranged attack" but replace it with everyone getting a special ability that's useful for taking out packs. It helps differentiate the classes more.

4. Alien Isolation is the real deal. You really do have that tension of being hunted. One time I failed at sneaking and was seen. I ran to a closet and locked myself in, hoping that might avoid it. Then it tore off the door and ate my face.

5. Beyond Earth looks great. They're making a real effort for this to not just be Civ V with a new coat of paint. It definitely is going to be fresh for Civ enthusiasts.

Additionally, I have one beta code for Might No 9 and two download codes for Mighty Gunvolt (8-bit demake of Azure Striker Gunvolt). Note for the Mighty Gunvolt if you get Azure Striker Gunvolt between now and three months from now you get Mighty Gunvolt for free. I'm now taking PMs; in a few hours I'll grab the codes from upstairs and award them to lucky people based on a series of arcane criteria including what my cats think of you.
So excited for Alien Isolation. Scared even.

I wonder if GamersGate is getting a lot of sales they weren't expecting lately.
I'd hope not gamers are terrible people and won't be around much longer according to these ten separate articles I read the other day all of which were posted within hours of each other. Anyone that believes otherwise is a fool.

Gaming is dead long live, uhh... journalism?
Fixed :P
I wasn't being sarcastic. It was satire of someone that actually believes what the media has been spitting out this weekend. Which is ironic because "gamer" was created as a buzzword by the press and content creators as a marketing tool.

I actually trust ign more than any other gaming site now. Minus the review they did for Get to the Attic (Gone Home)

I've heard it's a little like Octo Dad in how your limbs control. Are you a blender surgeon?

Put it this way. If you have the option to have me operate on you or die a horribly painful death, take the horribly painful death. It will be less painful and leave you with more dignity.

After playing copious amounts of New Super Mario Bros. U and Mario Kart 8 last weekend, I came away unimpressed. Both were simply beautiful deja vu.

So, seems like my experiment regarding people reading long posts has shown that no one actually reads a long post from start to finish.

Oh, I read your post. But only one of the games that you mentioned you got to experience really interests me, and I have no means by which to capitalize on your generous offer.
