Oh my own backlog is massive at easily 1000+ games, but I don't see why it is an either/or proposition or how it's a question of "logical sense" at all if one does or doesn't buy a new system. Seriously attacking your backlog and acquiring/playing new games don't have to be mutually exclusive pursuits.Retrogamer0001 wrote:You just keep right on rollin' those eyes.dsheinem wrote:Retrogamer0001 wrote:I'm willing to bet that you all have dozens, if not hundreds of games you haven't even looked at and don't need to buy a new console to play.![]()
Many of us regularly pay attention to our backlog and to brand new games simultaneously pretty much all the time, and like to both stay current and to go back to old games as well. So yeah, the "backlog" has never been a reason not to buy a shiny new console, especially if there are new and interesting exclusives for it.
In all honesty I'd much rather have had a brand new Nintendo line of handhelds. This half-step/slight upgrade to the CPU/GPU thing is nonsense.
There are many members here who own well over 500 games (in many cases, much more) and I see backloggery tags constantly with 200+ games unbeaten. My own is shameful, to say the least. Yet, arguing that owning all those unplayed games while buying a system to buy more games doesn't make logical sense. Whatever, nothing I say will change anyone's habits, so have at er'.

Re: Yet another 3DS model announced - the NEW 3DS
My main worry is that the "head tracking" thing will work as well as the Wii vanilla motion controls. It will probably track your head when you go all the way to the side, but what if you just move a few cms? Enough to break the sweet point but not enough for the camera to track? Not to mention that usually I break the 3D effect by moving the console with my hands, not moving my head.
And one last thing, I was playing my 3DS (XL) before going to bed last night and I thought.....the tracking won't work in the dark either.

I don't understand all the venom for this new 3DS. It looks pretty cool to me.

That and people must remember it won't be the last version.Anayo wrote:I don't understand all the venom for this new 3DS. It looks pretty cool to me.

Since the New 3DS XL won't be getting replaceable covers, I at least hope for a limited edition with Xenoblade.

The new c-stick reminds me of the nipple mouse from old IBM thinkpads.

I'm still waiting for the NEW 2DS with XL screen, extra Zr Zl shoulder buttons, and right nipple.

It's because most people are very self centered. I don't mean this as an insult, it's just the way we are. A new 3DS comes out and you think, "Why the hell would I want to upgrade to that?" How about all the people that have never owned a 3DS? Nintendo can't make an upgraded 3DS for them?Anayo wrote:I don't understand all the venom for this new 3DS. It looks pretty cool to me.

The thing is, this isn't a console for new/late adopters. This is a mandatory upgrade for those that want to stay current.
Will they still make 3ds games? Yes. Are you going to miss out on desirable N3ds games if you don't get a new unit? Most assuredly.

But isn't it likely that those games would not work on a 3DS? So, our only options are to either have them launch this and give us some meatier games, or just not launch it at all, and not give us those beefed up games.
I mean, if they didn't launch it, we still wouldn't get Xenoblade, right?
